Pet care experience

Hachi’s Farmhouse Furbaby Paradise

We love animals in our home! Fur babies spending the night with us can expect kind, loving, reliable care on our relaxing fully fenced 9 acre farm. Imagine “sleep away camp” for dogs. We have experience with doggies of all ages, from the very young to the senior and we love them all! We are not a large kennel, so here you can expect personalized attention for your doggo, lots of snuggles, plenty of pictures and even videos on our Instagram ! My key business partner is a very sweet Australian Shepard, Hachiko. He is known for playing, running, herding chickens and kittens, cuddles, and his unrelenting ”Aussie glitter (hair)” that is my constant battle. We know how much the environment affects our furbaby friends, so we do our best to provide a fun and easy going vacation for them. While we do ensure that they remember their basic manners, our doggie guests get to do whatever it is that they love most! Do they love fetch? We have two chuckits with balls of all kinds (including ones that glow in the dark!), do they love stuffies? We always have an ongoing supply of new (or used…dogs don’t care!) stuffies for everyone to play with. Do they just want to lay in the sun or air conditioning and know that they are not alone? We do that too! As you will find, this is what I “do.” I get to know all of my doggie guests and it is my mission to make them comfortable and happy while they’re here. I have with two well trained helpers (kids ages six and ten ). We play a lot and perhaps best of all, we don’t like to send home dirty dogs. Every client (unless otherwise specified) receives a complimentary bath, high velocity blow out and doggie cologne spritz before going home. I have a fenced yard and one Australian Shepard to keep your dog well entertained while you are away! We keep extra kennels on site in all sizes small, medium and extra large sized crate if needed. Though be assured, if your doggo doesn’t like kennels, they are not required. I do however always feed dogs separately and I limit the number of treats they get to ensure no fighting (though my dog has never shown any food or other aggression tendencies, I just find it is best practice to avoid any issues). Dogs will spend minimal time (usually just meal time) in their kennels or separated by gates - we want our place to be a home away from home! If you choose to add a pup nail treatment to your stay and your doggie will have their nails dremmeled (it avoids the sharp edges of a freshly cut nail) and paw hair trimmed. Lastly, when you “show us some love,” you’ll receive a free nights stay when you refer a friend to us and they complete their first booking! 😁 We are great at following instructions so if you have any specific needs or desires, we try out very best to accommodate! See more examples of what you can expect when you stay with us on Instagram! Look for Hachishouse509 🙌😁🙃. In summation, what you can expect at Hachi’s Farmhouse: 1. Personalized for you and your pup care. 2. A commitment to “no (bad) surprises when you pick up your pup! We are committed to communicating any issues during your pups stay in real-time so you are always “in the know.” We are reliable and you can count on us! 3. We always have varying treats, toys and dog supplies on hand for our guest doggie use and enjoyment. No need to haul over that extra large kennel your pup sleeps in (if they do!), we have two extra ones for your convenience! 4. With dog trained kiddos, a Nana, my husband and I, rest assured there is always someone around to love/play with your pup. 5. We send home a special surprise with each pup to thank you both for choosing Hachi’s Farmhouse. 6. We do have just one breed restriction - we do not accept German Sheperds. Our pup Hachi just doesn’t get along with them. We apologize for this inconvenience.

Julia was an amazing host for my dog Oli and my friends dog Kyo! The dogs loved their stay and we got lots of photo updates while we were away. Her property is amazing and spacious and the dogs loved being able to romp all over the property. We’ll definitely board them with her again if we’re back in the area. Highly recommend her!

What a special place! Julia and her family took wonderful care of our puppy. A beautiful, secure, and safe farm for Oly to stretch his legs, play, and socialize with other pups. Hatchi farms is top notch and I know Oly will be excited to come back. Thank you! .

Our pups had the best time at Hachi’s Farmhouse Furbaby Paradise. There was so much room for them to run and play with the other dogs that were being boarded there. We received pictures and videos during their stay. Julia and her family loved on our dogs the way we do. It was heartwarming to hear how they had settled in and made themselves at home. They were exhausted and slept all the way home in the car. Most definitely would recommend and will be reaching out for future boarding.

Schedule

Apart from running kiddos to/from school or activities, I’m usually home. Except under emergency circumstances, we do not accept drop offs or pickups before 8am or after 8pm. Other than that, we try to be flexible for you and your fur baby. Your fur babies will be well tended with activities each day, such as walks, playtime, mental stimulation, snuggles, some lite leash training (if desired), bike jouring, or maybe even snow shoeing! Bike jouring is an additional service where I teach or exercise your pup to run safely along side my bike. As you will see from our Instagram - we get outside no matter the weather! I have even been known to snowshoe with my “pack.” Additionally, every stay greater than 3 days includes complimentary bath, deshedding, and high velocity dryer blow out so your pup will come home smelling fresh and clean! Nail grooming with nail grinder can be added to the grooming service for an additional $12.

Safety, trust & environment

I have a completely fenced back yard and one friendly energetic Australian Shepard to keep your fur babies company. All initial meets are done with only me present and a gate in between the dogs as to vet out unsafe behavior. We live on a beautiful farm with lots of tall grass that dogs of course love to run is, so we ask that all dogs have a current flea and tick treatment prior to booking their stay but we are also happy to provide that treatment for $20/fur baby. We live on a property with chickens, cat and wild bunnies as well. When dropping off your pet for their stay or anytime you are in the front yard, please ensure your pup stays on their leash so our wild bunny and chicken friends stick around. There are also two chihuahuas (who belong to my Mom) that live on site but they do not have much interaction (if any) with our doggy guests. **A note about chickens - we do our very best to keep our chickens safe. They are in a fully enclosed, gated area. For the most part, this has never been a problem for our dog guests but should we find your dog has broken into our chicken run and/or coop, you will be charge $100/chicken lost in order to cover damages, rearing of new chickens and egg loss. If you aren’t sure whether or not your dog will leave the chickens alone, please let us know at the beginning of your booking request so we can discuss it with you.

A typical day

In the morning, the first thing on my list is getting the kiddos fed and out to school. After that, Hachi knows it’s time to let out the chickens - so the doggos usually do their “chicken run” while I do that…meaning, they do a group run around the chicken area and play like crazy. Then it’s “breakfast time” for all the pups - and if they’ve been really good, they get a raw, fresh farm egg with their food. Raw eggs keep their coats shiny and they usually LOVE it. After that, we are all usually outside doing chores or taking a “pack walk” around the perimeter of the property. This is a great time for leash training for any of our pups who struggle or maybe just need to learn more manners. Then, doggos usually need a nap so we all go in and chill until the kids get home from school. During the summer, the afternoon will usually include some relaxed outdoor time where the dogs and kids play outside while I work in my garden or read a book. When your pup stays with us - we will meet them at their level. Do they just want to lay in the shade? Do they want to run and play? It’s all good at our house!

At this time with young kiddos in the house, I cannot accommodate dogs that are aggressive toward people or other dogs. Apart from aggression, we are a loving, happy home that will do our absolute best to accommodate your pets needs! I have experience with elderly dogs that require peace and quiet and with young dogs that need lots of stimulation! If your doggo has trouble maintaining their manners, I do reserve the right to utilize basket muzzle training to help them wherever they are struggling. These muzzles are known to be the most humane, allowing for panting, eating and drinking during use. Don’t worry though, if this ever is necessary I will let you know in advance and we can brainstorm appropriate solutions. I’m here for you and your pup and my top priorities are always safety and comfort. Also, my dog Hachi is very good about adjusting his play level to be toned down with younger/older dogs but he can also play more energetically if the friend staying over would like to. I require that all dogs are either crated or seatbelted in my car for travel. My preferred leash to walk doggies is a gentle leader, but I do have several different types of leashes that I keep. I use one exclusively with Hachi (who was an awful leash puller even after obedience school!) . I find that it is the easiest to keep from dogs pulling me all over the place and once they get used to wearing it most dogs don’t mind it at all. It truly is a “gentle leader,” and allows me to walk multiple dogs at once without much training. If you prefer I don’t use a gentle leader, please let me know ahead of time and I am happy to accommodate. It has been a long time since I had to give any injections to animals, but with a demonstration I can do most tasks. ***Some breed restrictions apply ***Un-neutered males accepted only if they are 8 months old or younger ***Un-neutered females accepted only if they are 1 year old or younger
