Currently I work as an Animal Care Specialist and am a full time student. While my schedule can get quite full at times, I am able to balance my schedule enough to fit in home visits and dog walks!

In my client's home, I ensure safety and comfortability through routine and often use positive reinforcement. Before each job, I ask questions about the client's animal and environment (such as reactivity/triggers, understood words, food measurements, and cleaning supplies). I pay special attention to animal behavior and do my best to make anxious animals feel safe. I give animals space to warm up to me and positive reinforcement at every applicable step!

In general, I like to know the words/commands they know and/or practice, general behavior, their fears or reactivities, and any special needs or conditions. For house-sitting, I need to know dietary requirements (i.e., how much food are they given and when, where the food is, etc.), location of cleaning supplies, and any medications I may need to administer.
A typical day
I tailor activities to the individual and/or group pet preferences. I love to take dogs on long scenic walks or runs. I'll play fetch for hours and maybe allow them to chase me (it depends on the dog and situation, I take into account their behavior before I allow any chasing play!). If your animal is a cuddle bug, then no worries: I also love to take time to cuddle and chill! No matter their preferences, I will always take the time to learn what they enjoy and use that to plan what we do!

Pet care experience
Having been raised around animals my entire life, I've worked with a myriad of dogs (and cats!); from giant to tiny, and baby to senior! I love animals with all my heart and wish to give the best care possible! Currently I work at a local animal care facility, so I am no stranger to cleaning up messes (just let me know where your cleaning supplies are!) and recording data!

Julia was great! She took care of my dog Sosa and my house very well. She went above and beyond what I was expecting. She was in contact with me during the whole week, sending pictures of Sosa and updates regularly. I will definitely ask her again if I need another dog sitter. If you see she is available, send her a message, I'm sure she will be happy to help.

Julia watched my dog multiple times, when I first got my puppy and when she was a little bit older. I have a Lab Akita mix, who has lots of energy at times and also sleep a lot. When I first got my dog I was working two jobs and sometimes I would have to work both jobs on the same day. Julia made sure you take her outside to go to the bathroom and play with her. And Julia also made sure that she was eating and drinking water. Julia cared for my dog as if it was their own and made sure that all of her needs were met. I moved away with my dog and came back for a couple of months. And Julia helped me with her yet again, by this point my dog is a bit older and likes to play even more. Julia helped wear her out a little bit so she didn't have a ton of energy by the time I was done working. Julia does an amazing job with pets and all the pets I have seen them with seem to love them.
