Pet care fits very naturally into my daily routine since I work mostly from home and have a flexible schedule. I’m able to plan my day around the pets in my care, making sure they get regular walks, feeding, potty breaks, and plenty of attention throughout the day. I enjoy starting and ending my day with walks, especially since I live right by the national forest, so it’s easy to give dogs fresh air and exercise in a calm, natural environment. I’m also home most of the time, which allows me to provide consistent supervision, companionship, and care. For in-home visits, I’m able to adjust my schedule to match each pet’s routine and needs, whether that’s morning, midday, or evening visits. I always aim to keep pets on their usual schedule so they feel comfortable and stress-free while you’re away.

Safety, trust & environment

I always care for pets as if they were my own, making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved whether they are in my home or their own. In my home, pets get a calm, relaxed environment with lots of attention throughout the day since I work mostly from home. I follow their usual routines as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, walks, potty breaks, and any specific care instructions. Living near the national forest also allows me to provide peaceful, enriching walks in nature for dogs who enjoy being outdoors. In my clients’ homes, I make sure to respect both the pet’s routine and the home itself. I stick closely to your instructions so your pet experiences as little disruption as possible. I’m attentive to details like meals, medications, exercise, and companionship, and I also make sure your home is kept tidy. I’m happy to help with small additional tasks like watering plants, bringing in mail, and keeping things in order while you’re away. My goal is always to make pets feel secure and cared for, and to give owners peace of mind knowing everything is in good hands.

Information Julia P. would like to know about your pet

Before caring for any pet, I like to learn as much as possible about their routine, personality, and specific needs to make sure they feel comfortable and safe. Important things I like to know include feeding schedules, exercise habits, and any medical needs such as medications or allergies. I also ask about behavior—how they are around other animals or people, any anxieties or triggers, and what helps them feel calm and secure. It’s very helpful to understand their daily routine, favorite activities, and any training they’re used to, so I can keep things consistent while you’re away. I also like to know about any house rules, such as where they sleep or if there are areas they should avoid. My goal is always to provide a smooth, stress-free experience for both pets and owners, so the more details you can share, the better I can care for your pet.

A typical day

I love making sure pets have both fun and enriching experiences while they’re in my care! For dogs, that usually includes daily walks, playtime, and exploring nearby trails in the national forest for those who enjoy being outdoors. I’m happy to adjust the activity level depending on your dog’s age and energy—whether that’s long walks and active play, or slower strolls and relaxed time outside. I also enjoy interactive play like fetch, tug-of-war, or using toys that keep them mentally stimulated. For pets who prefer a calmer pace, I make sure they still get plenty of attention, affection, and companionship throughout the day. For cats and smaller animals, I spend time playing with their favorite toys, keeping their routines consistent, and making sure they feel comfortable and relaxed in their environment. No matter the pet, I focus on creating a positive, stress-free experience with a mix of play, exercise, and lots of love.

Pet care experience

Hi, I’m Julia! I’m 44 years old and originally from France, and I’d love to be your pet’s new favorite sitter 🐾 I have many years of experience caring for animals, especially dogs. My own dog lived to almost 17 years old, so I’m very familiar with everything from playful pups to senior care, including medications, special diets, and extra patience when needed. I genuinely love being outdoors and going on walks, and I always make sure each pet gets the exercise, attention, and routine they’re used to—whether that’s regular potty breaks, feeding schedules, or just lots of cuddles and companionship. I live right by the national forest, which is perfect for safe, enriching walks in nature. In addition to dogs, I also have experience with cats, fish, and pet rats, so I’m happy to care for a variety of pets. Since I work mostly from home, I’m able to provide plenty of supervision and attention throughout the day—your pet will never feel alone. I also offer in-home visits, where I can care for your pets in their own environment and help with small tasks like watering plants and keeping things in order while you’re away. I treat every pet like family and always aim to make them feel relaxed and loved while you’re away. Feel free to reach out with any questions—I’d love to meet you and your pet!

Julia was great, able to watch our pup overnight after a last minute booking. She was great with our separation anxiety dog, took plenty of walks and potty breaks, and kept us updated through the stay. Will definitely book with Julia again when we have future needs!

Julia was absolutely wonderful with our 9 yr old Shar Pei. I contacted her 3 days before I needed someone and she responded immediately. She was professional, trustworthy and I could tell she loved our dog. She even put 2 heavy furniture boxes in our garage for us. We would be happy to have her watch our dog again anytime!

Julia is an amazing human being and a true animal lover. Julia had a dog called Sally, with whom she moved all the way from France to the Bay Area. Julia took great care of Sally until she passed at almost 17 years old. Julia was there for Sally when she developed a brain tumor and provided all the care she needed and could have ever dreamed of. Sally had the best life with Julia, and I trust any animal would be treated like kings and queens in her hands. She also took care of my 2 cats since they were very little, I mean small enough to fit in the palm of your hand. My cats loved going on vacation to Julia's when we went out of town. I live in a different state now, and I only wish I could find someone as loving and caring as Julia to take care of them when I need it. I definitely recommend Julia to anyone looking to find the best person to take care of their pets.

Julia is has provided great care to my dog. She is responsible and shows up on time. She is warm and affectionate with Lucy and my dog comes home tired and happy after spending time with her.
