Safety, trust & environment

I am looking to do drop-in pet care and dog boarding. I could board a small pet that resides in an enclosure in my home or a dog (or two dogs from the same household). Both my cats are comfortable with dogs but tend to keep to themselves. I have 2 children and 2 cats at home. It’s a one floor house. The yard is nice and big. I don’t have a fence but I do have a longer leash so the dogs can run a bit.

Home

Lives in a house
Has an unfenced yard
Non-smoking household
Has 2 cats
Children 0-5 years old
Children 6-12 years old
Dogs not allowed on bed
Dogs allowed on furniture

Information Julia M. would like to know about your pet

Let me know if your dog is kennel trained or tends to swallow non-food items. For boarding, please bring a blanket, pet bed, or something that smells like home. For other pets, let me know their routines. What sort of toys or games do they like? How often do they eat and how much? Please include your veterinarian and an emergency contact in your profile.

A typical day

For a dog, we typically walk around the yard first thing in the morning then have breakfast. We’ll go outside an hour or two later. Walks are usually in the evening to avoid other dogs, if necessary. The dog usually hangs out on the couch or on a dog bed in the living room. Some dogs sleep in a kennel in the bedroom if that works better.

Pet care experience

Currently, I have two cats. I've had a dog, but before that, I primarily had birds (parakeets), lizards (bearded dragons) and frogs (mostly bull frogs). I cat-sit on occassion for a friend and sibling. I also raise Monarch caterpillars in the summer and release the adults.

Julia helped us with a last minute weekend stay for our senior dog. She sent daily pictures with updates about how he was doing. She’s had a senior dog herself and was familiar with his medicine and was able to give the pills without a problem. Her home had no stairs, which was perfect for our dog since he has arthritis. She lives in a beautiful, quiet, safe neighborhood with minimal traffic and sidewalks perfect for walks.

Julia is communicative and polite. Her kids are great with my dog too!
