Pet care experience

Vet Assistant & Animal Lover

Animals have always been a huge part of my life. I grew up around a veterinary clinic and have worked as a veterinary assistant for the past 7 years, giving me hands-on experience caring for dogs and cats of all ages, sizes, and temperaments. Through both clinic work and pet sitting, I’m comfortable administering medications, caring for senior pets, handling anxious or nervous animals, and working with puppies who may need extra supervision, potty breaks, patience, or routine reinforcement.

Pets

Safety, trust & environment

Creating a safe, calm, and comfortable environment for pets is very important to me. Because of my 7 years of experience working in a veterinary clinic, I’m comfortable reading animal behavior, administering medications, handling nervous pets, and responding calmly in stressful situations if needed. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I always try to keep their routine as consistent as possible. I pay close attention to feeding instructions, medications, walk schedules, potty routines, and any special care requests so pets feel comfortable and secure in their familiar environment.

I have had Julia pet sit my 3 dogs while I was out of town. Two of which are very spirited and the other is an elderly dog with vocal cord paralysis and other issues. The elderly dog was actually my dad’s dog before he passed away and I promised him to care for her for the rest of her life. I don’t trust just anyone to care for her. She did an amazing job and was able to handle all of their different quirks and personality traits. Julia has a great deal of knowledge regarding dogs with medical issues as well. She is a natural with pets. Great instincts, very thoughtful and kind. I had no messes or issues when I came back home. I would trust her with your “furry family” members! Highly recommended!

I am the owner of a 1-year-old goldendoodle who was really hard to train at the beginning months of his adoption. I had some meetings to tend to for a few days, and Julia was able to take of him during then. Julia met all of his needs and was an exceptional caretaker. If she could handle our playful little pup, she can handle any pet!

Schedule

I recently graduated from Bradley University and currently have a flexible schedule for walks, drop-ins, and house sitting throughout the week and weekends. I’m available for morning, afternoon, and evening visits and can work around your pet’s normal routine, including feeding schedules, walks, potty breaks, medications, playtime, and bedtime routines. I’m especially comfortable with pets who need more frequent check-ins, senior pets who may need extra attention, and puppies who benefit from structured routines and regular potty breaks throughout the day. I also love keeping owners updated and am happy to send regular messages and photos so you know how your pet is doing.

Before caring for your pet, I’d love to know about their normal routine and anything that helps them feel comfortable and secure. This can include feeding schedules, medications, bathroom routines, leash habits, favorite activities, sleeping preferences, anxiety triggers, or anything else that helps keep their day consistent. I’m especially comfortable caring for puppies, senior pets, and anxious animals, but I like having detailed instructions so I can follow their routine as closely as possible and make the experience as stress-free as I can for them.
