Animal loving recovering academic
I've loved animals as long as I can remember. I grew up with dogs, cats, and horses and have been pet, house, barn, and plant sitting for many years. I have two cats and a whole lot of houseplants of my own. And I would love to care for yours! I also had my horse, Hershey, for over 15 years until he passed in January 2024. I finished my PhD in August 2024. After years of researching injustice in the prison and justice system, I did a hard pivot and went full time with my little photography business! (juliaelliephoto .com). My partner and I recently bought land and built a house in Wells, Vermont, so I am moving my pet sitting and photography back to the green mountain State (where I lived until I went to graduate school in 2018) This has all been an absolute dream and I am so grateful every day that I get to celebrate people's marriages, families, graduations, and self love journeys. I will likely return to research at some point, but for now I am leaning into the fact that I get to document joy in a world so full of heartache. Also, I get to hang with amazing pets sometimes and that is a big plus 😊

Julia was amazing with our very timid little rescue. Julia went out of her way to come ahead of time to meet her, and I felt so much better once I met Julia, and saw how incredibly thoughtful her approach was.

Julia did an AMAZING job!! We have two active and needy Jack Russells whom she took amazing care of. She sent me updates throughout the day which really eased my mind seeing how happy they were with her. Highly recommend, especially if you have high expectations of care for your fur babies.
Julia was great at caring for our two pups. She stayed at our home and provided daily updates with how they were doing as well as checked in on any questions. I especially appreciated her extra attention to some additional houseplant and plant watering needs with the warm weather! We came home to a clean home and happy pups. Much appreciated!

Harmonogram
My work is extremely flexible. When I am in town, I can work from anywhere there is wifi, so it aligns well with house or dog sitting! I also love to get out for hikes and walks, so I already factor time for that into my schedule. My cats are very low maintenance and keep eachother good company, so I am able to be away from my home when needed.
