Pet care experience

Large Fenced Yard, Lots of Trees.

We are dog lovers ourselves with a dog of our own: Our Teacup Pomeranian, Rory. Although we can sit animals in their own homes, if that's where they are most comfortable, we generally sit dogs at our home providing that they can get along with our pups. If they are not social, that's OK too, we can let them play in our large fully fenced backyard that has covered and shady areas as well as lots of trees and paths to play on. If separation becomes necessary, Judy's residence downstairs is separate and can host delicate friends in peace with her. We are happy to have a free meet and greet in any case to let you know your canine kids are in good hands. Multiple potty breaks a day, whether it's here or at your home, to make sure your buddy doesn't lack for company. About this sitter: I am retired and have owned dogs for over thirty years. I have my niece Pam and her husband Jim living with me, as well as her brother, Stephen, and his little dachshund mix, Milo. Pam and I love to walk dogs in our neighborhood. Even though we live two blocks from an elementary school, our neighborhood still boasts of having more dogs than kids. We have had a dog walking/sitting business for the last six years and have glowing testimonials from our friends and clients. Why I love dog sitting I have loved dogs all my life, and finally got my own first dog 47 years ago. We've had a ball enjoying all the dogs that stay with us through Rover. All shapes and sizes and personalities of pups, each one unique. Meet my pets Maxfield, the Pomeranian, Rory, the Teacup Pomeranian, and Milo, the Dachshund Mix About my yard Our back yard is fully fenced and has defied all escape artists attempts to date. The yard is large and situated on a hillside, with terraced paths through large Apple, Oak, Red Cedar and Dogwood trees. Older or Health-Challenged Dogs may find it a bit steep...15 stairs to the Back Yard. My experience administering medication Yes, several of our guests have needed to take various meds. Our only exception was a diabetic dog (Pam is needle phobic)

Judy did fabulously with our very different dogs. Marge who tends to be a bit more wary with strangers immediately felt comfortable with Judy. Smyth who is a lover to all and especially those who give him cookies adored her as well. This was longest we were away and both dogs while excited to see us seemed like they were well adjusted to the routine with Judy. Overall a wonderful experience with lots of pictures and videos of our dogs throughout our vacation.

I have boarded with them several times. She is always very positive and helpful with my dogs. Today we had a problem and had to delay our pick up. She was very understanding and flexible. My dogs love being there and with the other dogs they board! Totally recommended.

Judy was great house sitting our cat. She was very conscientious and good with communication and sending photos. And she helped us find an excellent boarding option for our very active golden retriever during the same time period.

A typical day

Here's where we'll take our walks We generally take our walks through the Wedgwood neighborhood. The walks usually last between half an hour an an hour, depending on how many friends and pups we meet along the way. the routes we take almost all have sidewalks, so we're safe from cars. Your dog's sleeping arrangement We have dog beds in the living room and our bedroom, and the dogs are allowed to sleep wherever they like. As I said before, some dogs prefer to sleep in their pet carrier with the door open because it's familiar. Time I'll spend with your dog There will ALWAYS be someone here with the dogs, though different dogs want different amounts playtime and relaxation time.

Judy D. & Pam can host up to 3 pets per night
We generally like to know if there is a particular toy or activity (like tug of war, fetch, etc.) that the pup enjoys so we can make them happy. A couple of the pups, for instance, liked their pet carrier out where they could hang out in it for personal/nap time. No breed restrictions, but guests need to be able to get along with the other dogs. Anything They DON'T Like, and any ALLERGIES are Important to be aware of, as well!!!
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
