Pet care experience
Home full-time - fenced yard.
Home Environment I live in a spacious house featuring a securely fenced back yard, providing a safe and comfortable environment for pets to play and relax. My Chihuahua, who is notably sociable and friendly, enjoys interacting with other dogs, cats, and people alike. Resident Pets In addition to my Chihuahua, I share my home with two cats that I rescued from the local animal shelter. Both cats are well-adjusted and accustomed to living with dogs. Typically, after a brief introduction consisting of a few sniffs and perhaps a hiss, they are able to coexist peacefully with other cats. Experience and Availability Since retiring from the Army, I am available around the clock to care for your beloved pet. With more than 26 years of experience in owning and caring for both dogs and cats, I am well-versed in understanding and meeting their unique needs. Commitment to Care I promise to care for your pet as if it were my own, ensuring its safety, comfort, and happiness. Every animal entrusted to me is treated as an extended and respected member of my household.

This is my go to caretaker for Coco; she never disappoints. Nothing but positive thoughts and words for Ms. Joyce. Thanks for taking such good care of Coco!

Joyce is amazing! We felt very comfortable leaving our pup with her.

Joyce is very sweet lady and she always gives us updates with my two babies. I can recommend her.

Upon arrival, she seemed like a very nice and organized old lady. However, she scowled me via text for not providing her with information listed on my dog's profile. This was also my dog's first time boarding which she was informed about before the booking. Yet, she decided to double book and introduce a new dog in the middle of my dog's stay. One moment I'm told my dog is so smart, 2 days later I'm told to end my vacation early and come pickup my dog because she supposedly "attacked" another dog upon the dog's arrival. Because of this, Joyce decided to crate my dog for the rest of the stay. 5 hours later Joyce decides to let my dog be around the dog she supposedly "attacked". By the time I got my parents to retrieve my dog (since I was too far away), Joyce says the dogs were playing together nicely. Why would she even consider letting my dog around the other dog if Joyce truly thought my dog "attacked" the other dog? Needless to say, I had a very stressful vacation hearing about all this on the sidelines. I truly believe if the sitter is taking on a new client with first time boarding experience, that Rover needs to inform the sitters of the dangers of double booking. Joyce reported the "incident" to Rover. I am now currently back from vacation and dealing with an open claim with Rover and having to write a written statement. This is my first experience with Rover and it's already causing so much grief, stress, and disappointment. I only needed someone short notice like Joyce/Rover because of unexpected medical issues dealing with my mom (whom had agreed to watch my dog beforehand). Yet some how, my mom recovering from pancreatitis is more reliable than a stranger on Rover with 5 star reviews. I feel like such a bad owner because I didn't look elsewhere for boarding. Now my dog has a bad rap.

Joyce M. cancelled a booking 3 days before it was scheduled to begin.
Joyce is very kind! She took great care of my precious pup, making it easier to go away for a night.

Where your pet will stay
Home characteristics
Safety, trust & environment
I have a fenced yard and a very friendly Chihuahua to keep your fur baby company. I can easily crate your dog if needed. My cats ignore dogs that don't want to play. If your dog dislikes cats, I am able to separate their living areas while your dog is on-site.
Pets
A typical day
I love to stimulate your pets physically and mentally. We'll check out the neighborhood, explore Codorus State Park near my house, and there are lots of toys available for play time.
