As a full-time dog owner, I already have an existing routine taking Lily out a minimum of twice daily. We love going to the beach and she regularly joins us when we're out and about. We don’t leave her for long, and only then very rarely. I’m happy to work with owners to agree a suitable routine for their dog.

Our home offers a safe and secure environment with a very relaxed and dog-friendly atmosphere. I can be trusted to deliver care in the owner's home, and will happily discuss all aspects in terms of access and security. I will only walk up to 2 dogs at a time and carry spare leashes, water bowls etc. I'm very vigilant around traffic and other dogs/groups of dogs whilst out and about.

I am familiar with dog behaviours such as yawning or licking lips if they are nervous or stressed and will take the appropriate steps to ensure your dog feels safe in my care.

I think it's important to stimulate your dog by providing toys & treat puzzles and snuffle boxes to get their brains working. I enjoy walking with my own dog Lily and regularly take her to different places such as the beach, parkland etc as well as walking around my local community so that she gets used to different sounds and smells that help to keep her stimulated.

I've cared for animals most of my life - since retiring I now have the most adorable cockapoo, Lily, she is very socialised and loves other dogs- Lily would be happy to share me with any canine guests! I know how important it is to find the right carer for your pooch because they're members of the family and you want only the best - trusted, loving and reliable - and that's what I can offer. I don't have pet care qualifications - but I possess all the practical and common sense skills required to care for your dog, as well as oodles of cuddles and plenty of walks! I have regularly looked after my friends dogs, a Staffordshire bull terrier, greyhound and Labrador so I’m used to handling different breeds of dogs and managing their needs. My secure garden backs on to woodland and open fields - offering perfect play opportunities - in a lovely part of Wigan Borough. Our dog-friendly home offers open access to dogs that are house trained. I always recommend meet and greets to ensure everybody is happy as well as trial visits/nights to assess how well your pooch will settle in. All dogs have their unique personality traits and some have issues with, for instance, separation anxiety, phobias, etc - so I'm happy to discuss strategies to help manage potential issues. I can administer medications - oral and injection - and will follow advice on medical conditions such as food allergies to the letter. I am retired and home-based and enjoy spending time with my girl, Lily - and I would love to invite other small/medium dogs with a similar happy nature into my home.

I recently used Joyce's dog sitting services for my senior dog Tilly, and I couldn't be happier with the care she received! Tilly is getting older and has become quite nervous in new situations, but Joyce put her completely at ease from the get go. The updates and photos Joyce sent throughout the day were so reassuring. It was clear Tilly was relaxed, well-loved, and enjoying plenty of attention. When it was time to pick her up, Tilly actually didn't want to leave! That says everything about the warm, patient, and professional care Joyce provides. I will absolutely be using Joyce again without hesitation and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring dog sitter. She's a true gem. Five stars all the way!
Daisy seemed very happy for her day at Joyce's, they had a lovely walk in the woods (nice n cool) we will definitely be back, it's a lovely home and Lilly is so playful and friendly 😊
Unfortunately, I can’t recommend Joyce based on my experience. I booked two drop-in visits for my dog, Boo. Joyce arrived late for the first visit, and she didn’t attend the second visit at all. I tried to contact her when she didn’t arrive, but it was around 60 minutes later that she responded and explained she had missed the visit because she was busy trimming a hedge. I wasn’t informed beforehand that she wouldn’t be coming, so Boo was left alone until we returned home and I wasn’t given the opportunity to make alternative arrangements. This was the first time we’d trusted someone outside of our family to look after Boo, so the experience was extremely upsetting. Reliability and communication are essential when caring for someone’s pet, and unfortunately my experience fell well short of what we expected. As a result, we cancelled our future booking with Joyce as we no longer felt confident relying on her to care for Boo.
Joyce looked after my 7 month old cavapoo puppy for 2 weeks whilst I was away on holiday. It was the first time I had ever left him overnight with anyone and I was really nervous how he would cope, but he loved his stay with Joyce and her cocker, Lily. He got regular walks and cuddles and I got lots of updates and videos so I could enjoy my holiday knowing he was in good hands and having a good time. I will definitely use Joyce again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable pet sitter.
