Hello I’m Joy. I live in Oxford where I work remote for the University of Iowa. I have been passionate about pets my whole life! My family always had pets; dogs, cats, birds, etc while I was growing up. I am very outgoing, I love taking my dog Rosy to the parks and on walks. I want to see more happy more happy tails in the neighborhood! I’m looking forward to meeting your pup, and getting them out for much needed exercise or just some nice couch cuddles and scratches!

My apartment has a generous front and backyard, as well as plenty of sidewalk paths for walks in every direction. I have crates if your pet finds kenneling comfortable, or many sizes of dog beds in most every corner.

Joy is an amazing person! She took great care of my dog Sona and sent me regular updates. I would definitely want to have her dog sit again in the future when needed.
Warning: please read ALL of Joy’s reviews!! I’m not sure how this sitter has 5 stars on Rover but it must be some sort of glitch. She has many negative reviews which I unfortunately did not see in advance. I booked Joy for 30 minute drop-ins to feed my cats & give them attention twice per day: at 7am and 6pm. On the first day, when I had scheduled Joy to visit at 6pm, she started the drop-in 3.5 hours early, at 2:30pm. The next morning, hours went by with absolutely no communication. Finally, at 10:30am she replied and said she had just woken up. She arrived at my home at 11:15am. Joy was 4+ hours late. My cats went 20+ hours between meals/visits which was not the arrangement agreed upon. I messaged Joy to reiterate my expectations of 2x/day visits but said I was willing to be flexible +/- 2 hours of the scheduled times due to the holiday. She did not apologize or indicate anything would improve. I contacted another sitter who had previously cared for my cats in a responsible manner who was fortunately able to step in. All of the communication I had with Joy was limited & delayed with hardly any information on how my pets were doing. I have absolutely no idea why Joy would agree to pet sit for me when she couldn’t follow through with the commitment. When the new petter sitter took over, their water dish was empty & litter box was full. I’m extremely disappointed and would not recommend Joy to anyone looking for a reliable pet sitter. I trusted her but now realize this behavior has happened before with previous clients. I would not rely this person to follow through on ensuring the wellbeing of my pets.
We booked Joy over the holidays, everything went great! Even when we noticed something about our cats toys (which we didn’t tell her about!) she was more than willing and available to stop by for an additional visit to ensure our kitty was safe.
Joy was a true blessing for our family. Two days before Christmas we were out of town and got word that our furnace went out, and our house was getting way too cold for our cats. Unable to travel back, Joy picked up our cats from our home and took them in for a few days. The cats came home happy and fed. Joy came through in our time of need, was very responsive, and extremely affordable! I can't recommend her enough.

Schedule
I work remote from the University of Iowa, so I’m at your pets beck and call! Just my chihuahua mix, Rosy and I will take at least 2 walks a day. I am flexible to what your pet needs; lots of walks to lap time cuddles!
