Pet care experience
I watch 1 family’s dog(s) at a time
Why you should book with me! 😊 - I LOVE sending tons of videos and photos to you so you know how your dog is going. I typically check in multiple times/day early on during sitting. For longer stays I’ll usually update at least 3X/day. I text you directly. I don’t always send via rover app since longer videos don’t tend to get through! - I ONLY dog sit one family’s dog(s) at a time and clean/disinfect between dog sittings. This is for your dogs safety and helps keep their new environment stress free! - I have 20 years of experience. - I do NOT have kids or other pets at my house. - please note: I do not watch cats - unfortunately, I am allergic to some cats. If you have cats at home, please let me know. My 20 years of experience include: - dog caregiver at animal boarding for about a year - was a foster mom for SPCA and multiple rescue groups for a few years - animal advocate with local city (when I used to live in Texas) for better animal programs and ordinances - had a dog for 15 years that I cooked for 2-3X/day... I’ve administered at home subq fluids and shots - had two other dogs that I fostered and then adopted knowing they had health issues and provided palliative care. FUN FACTS - I’m kind of an animal whisperer! I’ve had a squirrel let me save him from a trap that was clamped on his foot. He was still able to run and scale a fence, but he stopped to let me figure out how to get the trap off of him. - I once had a baby goat find me amongst a large crowd during goat yoga and he fell asleep in my lap... it was one of the best times of my life! 😂

Joy was amazing with our pups. They had a great time and Joy was always providing pics and updates. It was truly a fun and loving vacation for your fur kids.

Joy is the best! Our dog loves staying with her so much that she makes herself right at home as soon as we drop her off. She’s very accommodating of our dog’s needs and sends the best updates. It’s so great being able to travel while knowing our girl is happy and cared for. Can’t recommend her enough!

Joy is absolutely wonderful! This was the third time she took care of our senior GSD and we could tell he was comfortable and settled down in her home right away. Joy sent us lots of photo and video updates and we knew that Klaus was being well cared for. Our dog has lots of quirks and preferences and has a special diet and Joy accommodated him very well. Disclaimer: I work for Rover.

We are so happy we found Joy! She sends frequent updates and goes above and beyond to make sure our dog is comfortable and happy while we’re away. It’s such a great feeling to know that our dog is always in good hands with her😊

Joy is an absolute gem! My pup is anxious and a bit older so she has some mobility issues to keep in mind. Joy provided tons of great updates and you can tell she adores dogs. I’m so glad I found Joy!

Joy has looked after Steve our first dog, and she was just as amazing with our 8 month old second puppy Robbie. Really thoughtful updates throughout the day, lots of photos and videos. Again, very thankful to have found Joy. Highly recommended.

Schedule
I’m a bit of a night owl working on Central Time hours (I’m up by 6-6:30am on weekdays), so if your dog is a relatively flexible kiddo with wake up time, then the rest is a breeze! I don’t mind accommodating my schedule to the dogs when it comes to number of times they need to be fed or walked or let out to potty. Here’s an example of what a day in the life looks like with me: Mornings: I wake up around 6-7am on weekdays (9-10am on weekends) and will let the dog out immediately and feed them before I start my work day. Mid-morning: A quick break to make breakfast and let out the doggos or play with them. Noonish: I have lunch and play with the dogs/let them out or take them on a walk. After work: Work day ends around 3-4pm, I’ll take the dogs on a walk or play in backyard/inside house with them. Dinner: Dinner followed by potty break. Evening: I always give them another potty break before I go to bed around 10-11pm on weekdays (12am on weekends).

Home characteristics
Safety, trust & environment
Your dogs are never out of my sight especially when they’re let outside in the enclosed backyard. It’s out of safety for them (in case they want to dig under fence/jump over/eat random things). They’re also rarely out of my sight at home. I have a child’s gate at the top of the stairs so they can’t sneak up while I’m busy downstairs (most dogs don’t do this and generally prefer to hang around wherever I am in the house but I’ve had a few do and potty on the upstairs carpet 🙈 so trust privileges have been revoked lol). Most importantly, they will get all the snuggles in the world if they want them!
A typical day
- daily walks around my quiet neighborhood, more if the dog is high energy - I also love to train, practice tricks and use engagement puzzle toys if they like it as well - I also give gentle, Swedish style massages for dogs… they seem to love it!
