Safety, trust & environment

Whether caring for pets in my home or in a client's home, I treat every animal like a member of my own family. I follow each pet's normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, potty breaks, exercise, playtime, medications, and any special care instructions. I have experience caring for dogs, cats, small reptiles and pet birds. I understand that every animal has its own personality, needs, and comfort level, and I take the time to build trust with each pet. For dogs, I provide plenty of exercise, enrichment, and affection through walks, playtime, and outdoor adventures. For cats, I focus on maintaining a calm environment while providing companionship, play, and routine care. For birds, I ensure fresh food and water, clean living spaces, enrichment, and safe, attentive handling when appropriate. Communication is important to me, so I provide regular updates and photos to give pet parents peace of mind while they're away. My goal is to create a safe, comfortable, and stress-free experience for every pet in my care.

Information Journey B. would like to know about your pet

Before caring for any pet, I like to know their temperament, daily routine, energy level, and comfort around other animals, children and people. It’s especially important for me to understand whether a dog is dog-friendly before any group settings like dog parks. I also ask about feeding schedules, potty routines, leash behavior, medical needs, allergies, and any medications or special instructions. For cats and birds, I want to know their handling preferences, stress triggers, and environmental needs. If there are any behavioral concerns such as anxiety, reactivity, escape tendencies, or aggression, I appreciate full honesty so I can make sure the environment and activities are safe and appropriate for them. My goal is always to provide safe, personalized care that matches each pet’s individual needs and comfort level.

A typical day

I provide enrichment tailored to each pet’s needs, personality, energy level, and temperament. For dogs, I offer a mix of physical and mental stimulation, including walks around the neighborhood, trips to the dog park (only for dogs who are comfortable, social, and appropriate for group play), adventures at Tolmie State Park, and outings to local beaches when appropriate. I always prioritize safety and will not take any dog into group settings that may not be a good fit. I also enjoy interactive play like fetch and ball games, as well as calm bonding time such as snuggles and relaxation. For cats, I focus on enrichment through interactive toys, play sessions, environmental stimulation, and companionship while respecting their comfort and independence. For birds, I provide mental enrichment through social interaction, safe handling when appropriate, and maintaining a clean, stimulating environment with fresh food, water, and engaging surroundings. My goal is to ensure every pet feels happy, engaged, safe, and well cared for while in my home or their own familiar space.

Pet care experience

I'm more than a quick potty-break sitter. I love giving dogs exercise, enrichment, and fun outdoor adventures tailored to their energy level. I frequently visit Tolmie State Park, where dogs can enjoy wooded trails, new scents, and beachside walks. Whether your pup loves exploring, playing, or simply getting extra attention, I'll provide personalized care and regular updates so you can feel confident while you're away.
