Pets must not have severe separation anxiety and be able to be left alone for up to 4 hours. Pets from different families are kept in separated areas of the home when I am away, or in a crate if they are trained. I have an XL dog crate that is 4x3 ft and 3.5 ft tall for ease of transportation. I adhere as close to your babies routine and schedules as possible! I want your animals to feel spoiled and absolutely adored, especially if they have anxiety from being away from their moms and dads. It is their vacation too! I take pride in so many of my clients pets turning to come back into my home instead of their car they had so much fun here! 😂

Safety, trust & environment
🔐Safety: All my clients pups are screened for friendliness, aggression, and severe separation anxiety. Rescues are allowed on a meet and greet basis, referencing their history and anxiety levels. I take exceptional care to help rehabilitate them to gain trust with other dogs and new environments, safely. Please ask me for my reviews on my rescue care! I pride myself on sending home rescues better than when they came, in terms of making stride in their confidence and sociability. It’s probably my favorite part of the job. I do not board pets with history of blatant aggression. These pets will need to be boarded by themselves, and book up all 2 slots. There are exceptions to pets who have been fully rehabilitated. This is the same for pets who cannot be left alone. I spend a lot of time with introductions within the pack, using separate areas of the house connected by doggy gates for initial smelling, neutral sidewalk introductions, or backyard introductions depending on everyone’s comfort level. Pets who pose a risk of running away / backing out of their leashes are equipped with an additional slip lead connected to their collar or harness with a carabiner. Please inform me of this behavior so I can guard against it. 🏡 Environment: I allow free roam in my 2 bedroom home. When sitting multiple pets, I have my home separated into 2 different areas via doggy gates, when necessary. I use exercise and play as a way to let dogs release anxieties from being away from home, followed by rest times to bring down their nervous system back into “rest & digest.” Pets have the ability to openly interact throughout the entire home while granting them their own space, for feeding time, and their bone / lick mat time. (When applicable) This means we vary the day between free-roam, their designated areas, and time rotating them between the 2 areas so that they get plenty of stimulation and down time after an active day and can have time and space to settle down! Most pets I take in are comfortable sharing the same space. But low- confidence pups, or elders, might not want to be around dogs of more extroverted or higher energy nature all the time. 🌳 The backyard is 1000 sq ft, 6ft fence we built on the property, not attached to the house. The property is in a quiet forested neighborhood with ditch access. It has shade. Pups are never left alone outside, thick grass, and lots of features and toys to explore! It is detached from the house and will have to be walked down to on the 2 acre property. There is a gated dog kennel about 300sq feet that is 50 ft from the back door as well that is mostly shaded for quick potty breaks! 🧼 I disinfect my floors, and everything nose height including baseboards, walls, cabinets, and furniture with a medical grade disinfectant between clients. I have never had a case of illness / kennel cough at my home.

Information Joslyn K. would like to know about your pet
*Please bring a signed vet release form, or call your vet ahead of time. Pets must have the following vaccination records sent prior to the stay • Bordetella • Rabies I do not allow clients to be present for introductions to other clients pets. This is because your pups love and protect you! Without you there, I am able to create a neutral territory for all my clients pets without the pressure of them needing to guard you. This means the occurrence of a failed introduction greatly reduced because of these factors: -Protectiveness As stated this is one of the top reasons introductions fail. -Time It can take many hours to properly introduce pets. This allows a comfortable time for pets to smell and be around each-other via the doggy gate. This is another game changing factor in a successful and un-stressful introduction. -Lead Aggression. Introducing pets even in neutral territory like the sidewalk will increase failure. I utilize doggy gates and backyard introductions with me and my partner with our slip leads held loosely. Pups must have no aggression with other animals. Some nervousness is allowed as dogs are strictly monitored and kept in areas separated by age/ size/ and temperament. Pets with outright aggression towards animals must be boarded alone. Pets must not have severe separation anxiety. The is means no history of destruction tendencies without selecting 24-hour care. This assures that your pet will always be watched and never left alone. Puppies: Puppies are categorized based on vaccinations, potty training, and destruction tendencies. Puppies who are vaccinated and crate trained qualify for discounted rates. Rescues: I take on rescues of varying degrees of nervousness. They must have lived with you for atleast 1 month, and have good behavior simply being around other pups. Because of my strict monitoring, I allow rescues to be housed with other clients, permissions granted from other clients. This means I am able to help rehabilitate and expose your pet to positive stress, and have the ability to remove them from negative stress once their limit of social interactions has been met. I have many testimonials from clients who have their rescues brought to me. These pups leave better than when they came as I believe in calm and supportive exposure to new circumstances within their boundaries I highly suggest chew toys and bones! Pups chew as high as 50+% of the rate they normally do when their family is away. Please make a long list about all the details- what their vocabulary is, their likes and dislikes and all the things in between to help me understand their personalities and needs. In our meet and greets we can discuss their histories, and temperament and we can create the perfect plan for introductions to my home and other appropriate clients pets. Tell me how they are with other dogs, seniors, and puppies. Do they prefer to be left alone? Are they couch dwellers? Do they need to have a lot of exercise? Should their exercise be kept to a minimum? The more info the more I can keep them safe and happy :)
A typical day
We wake up at 8:30 am, (or suited to your pups routine) go for potties, in the form of either quick walk around neighborhood or some play in the backyard. We'll get some energy out that way, and let them get their little joints moving and stretching from a well rested night. Pups get fed and loved on, and any am medications given at the times that are appropriate for their schedule. I have a plethora of enrichment Mets and toys for them to play with. They are always being stimulated if they are in need of those outlets! I do about 30+ min of exercise daily, or longer or less dependent on your pups energy levels and age. I will be sure of your what pet’s needs are, and his/her comfort zones and preferences. Pets have as many potty breaks as they need, even in the middle of the night. I walk pups in the evening when it isn’t hot, or in the hottest part of the day in the winter if their feet are tolerant to the cold. In the evening we do their meal times, additional medication needs, lots of cuddles!🥰

Pet care experience
My name is Joslyn, and I am a kennel-free, at home pet sitter with 10 years professional experience, 17 days years all together. I recently moved back in with my mother whom I used to pet sit at years ago as my house is being sold! While I wait to buy a new one in the next 6 months. I take care of pets full-time! 💚 🐕 🦴 I have one of the top 3 repeat client rates of any Billings, MT Rover Sitter. ♻️ My 4.9 ⭐️ is from 1 client who unfortunately lied in order not pay me during a Christmas time house sitting booking, after I had asked her to complete payment while I was pet sitting briefly in Hawaii. It is my only negative review off any of my 100x 5 reviews across all platforms I use; Google, Facebook, Yelp, and Care! Yellowstone Pet Sitting I have a family background of free-range cattle ranching & have raised, loved & cared for a variety of pet species- from guinea pigs to exotic parrots. Volunteering at several rescues, and helping raise several puppy litters, I have dedicated most of my life to learning about the spectrum of dog temperaments and behavior. I treat pets as if they our own, because in those moments, they really are! I love reassuring and bonding with animals. My effort is to make them feel like they are on vacation themselves! I have a variety of outdoor and indoor enrichment activities. I have a learned and experiential understanding of dog behavior. I specialize in a variety of dog energy levels and reactivities, including; rescues, elders, high energy dogs, hunting dogs, and puppies. I monitor constantly for their emotional states, taking note of confidence, over stimulation, and stress. This eye for behavior assures that I am in full control and always know where an emotional state is headed in a pack dynamic. I take away triggers like shared meal times with dogs from different families, with dedicated areas for feeding and bone chewing. Pets from different families are never left alone together or left alone outside. In the summer I have a dog pool, combination dog ball pit with XL BPA free commercial grade balls, a doggy sprinkler that shoots tennis balls! Backyard is shaded and grassy! Joslyn took awesome care of our fur-babies over the weekend. It was their first time staying with Joslyn and I am SO grateful for all of the pictures and video she sent. They're soppy English Setters with delicate souls and she paid attention to that and took great care of them. I'm so grateful to her!!

Joslyn has been amazing! She constantly keeps me updated throughout the day with photos annd videos and is extremely patient with my energetic puppy. I would highly recommend her to anyone !

Joslyn was amazing! She fit my pup in with late notice over the holidays. Hank had so much fun with the other pups. Joslyn sent lots of pictures and videos. She was super communicative and made me feel much more confident leaving my puppy for a few days for the first time. He even slept through the night better after coming home, so thank you Joslyn!!

Joslyn did a great job taking care of my energetic puppy for the day! She kept in contact with me the entire day with updates on her activities. I felt like she was safe and in great hands ❤️
