I am currently unable to offer my home as a location for pet-sitting; however, I would love to help out with any of the other pet services I am able to offer!

Information Josie P. would like to know about your pet

I will always encourage clients to fill out the pet profiles and veterinary information in case of emergency. It's also important to know if a dog is food-aggressive, dog-aggressive, or reactive towards anything in particular. I'd also like to know if the dog has any medical or behavioral issues. As for breed preferences, all pets have their individual quirks, but cats have a special place in my heart and I do love big, fluffy dogs!

A typical day

I love staying active! I really enjoy taking dogs for walks as it is fun for both them and myself! For older or more mellow pets, I also love just hanging out and giving lots of love and attention. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me. I'm super excited to get to know you and your pets and to help out in any way I can!

Pet care experience

I am in my fourth (& final) year of veterinary school at Iowa State with the intention of becoming a small animal emergency veterinarian! I have 7+ years of professional animal care experience. Care including feeding, medicating, cleaning up after, and exercising both dogs and cats. I also have experience with rabbits, guinea pigs, hedgehogs and small birds! I have worked as a vet assistant/tech in a general practice and an emergency practice.

Josie was great to work with! She was very kind, was always on time, and took good care of my dog. She also accommodated a last minute schedule change, which we really appreciated.

Josie was so awesome! She took fantasic care of of dog when we had to go out of town a few weeks post-dog-surgery. Excellent care! Would absolutely ask her to do drop in visits again when needed. Thanks!

Josie is a great pet sitter! She was responsive to messages and proactive about setting up a meet & greet. She took our lab out for some long hikes, gave her lots of playtime, and sent us in depth report cards after her visits. It's comforting to know a vet student is taking care of your pet. Highly recommend.

We have worked with Josie on several occasions. She is remarkably dependable. Josie always responds quickly to our messages, keeps us informed when she visits our kitties, and takes photos of them playing with her. Usually, I have anxiety when I have to leave my cats during travels, but not when Josie is watching them.
