Availability
I am currently working from home and am available for dropoff in-home daycare most weekdays and dog boarding (including weekends). My schedule for my dog was three walks a day (morning, afternoon/dinnertime, bedtime) so that is what I'm used to, but I am happy to work with clients to discuss their routine and work with them to agree on an experience that fits their and their dog's needs.

I currently have no other animals in my home, so your dog will get my full attention as needed. I don't have a fenced yard, but I am in a residential neighborhood with a good-sized park a block away. I am reasonably close to Seward Park and the Genesee dog park as well.

Information Joshua P. would like to know about your pet
If your dog has any particular behaviors around other dogs please let me know. For instance, my dog was sometimes reactive around other intact male dogs. Are they OK meeting other dogs? Do they behave differently leashed or unleashed? Are they comfortable if we encounter kids? That sort of thing.
A typical day
I am happy to work on basic obedience and tricks (e.g., "shake"), fetch. Visits to a dog park or 2-3 mile walks are possible as well.

Empty-nested Dog Lover!
Pet care experience
Most people call me Josh. Dogs have always been my favorite animal and I've lived with them for most of my life. I am recently dog-free and I miss having dog energy in my house. I've raised two dogs through basic obedience to adulthood, one with a class, and one largely on my own. I am personally a big believer in the methods described in The Art of Raising a Puppy, because I have had excellent results with their techniques, but will of course prioritize whatever approach is preferred by owners. I am happy to help reinforce any basic obedience your dog may be working on, as well as senior dogs. I am comfortable with a wide range of dog breeds, sizes, and temperaments. Highly reactive dogs are not my favorite, but "highly reactive" can be subjective, so I will consider such dogs on a case by case basis. I am happy to work with dogs of varying activity levels, but extremely high-activity dogs will also be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Reviews

Joshua is always so attentive to our little guy! He gives regular updates, takes multiple walks, and even had a rain jacket for our guy that we didn't pack. He is prepared for things you may have missed. This is our third time booking with Joshua, and Geddy loves him! We are so fortunate to be able to have our guy spend time with a dog lover! Thanks again, Joshua!

Joshua has cared for my dog several times now, and every experience has been fantastic. From day one, he has been super easy to coordinate with — always quick to respond and so friendly. He took the time to get to know my dog during the meet & greet, and didn’t rush through the process. My dog has some separation anxiety and can sometimes take a while to warm up to unfamiliar people, but he got used to Joshua right away and it feels like my dog has known Joshua for a long time now. Joshua embraces my dog’s unique quirks and reads his behavior so well, which makes a huge difference. We get photo/video updates each stay, and my dog always looks comfortable and so happy. We honestly can’t recommend Joshua enough. He’s reliable, caring, and just genuinely great with dogs. We’re so happy and grateful to have connected with Joshua, and our dog clearly feels the same way!

Josh was attentive from the get-go during the meet and greet. He asked thorough questions about Jackson and took great notes. We knew Jackson was in good hands during our long weekend trip away and completely felt that Jackson was safe and comfortable. Josh even supplemented additional kibbles when we didn’t pack enough food. We’re very happy with Josh’s service and care of our pup!
