Pet care experience

Empathic animal lover

I work with everything from high-energy huskies to senior cats, small mammals like guinea pigs and hedgehogs, and animals with histories of trauma, fear, or aggression. My experience spans fostering, rehabilitating, and training dogs in rescue programs, helping them build trust, confidence, and safe social skills before placement. Where most sitters provide food, water, and walks, I provide stability, enrichment, and deep behavioral insight. I read subtle cues, understand stress signals and feeding quirks, and structure environments to keep every animal safe and comfortable. I also serve on adoption committees, giving me insight into what makes successful matches between pets and people. I don’t treat animals as tasks — they’re companions. I provide the structure, affection, and guidance that keeps them calm and confident, even when you’re away. For pets that need extra support, I offer board-to-train options, combining care with targeted behavioral guidance and enrichment. If you want someone who can do more than just check boxes — someone who can support, enrich, and understand your pet’s unique personality while keeping them safe — I’m the sitter for you

Doggy Day Care • Jul 10, 2026

Joshua has watched Duke for me multiple times before, and this time he was able to help out with my two cats on short notice. He was flexible, communicated well, and even helped with pickup and drop-off, which made things much easier for me. I really appreciated him being available when I needed it and I'm always happy to book with him!

Joshua was excellent with my dog, Duke. Before booking, we did a meet and greet since Duke isn’t always the best with other male dogs, and I wanted to be sure he’d get along with Joshua’s pup. At first, I was a bit unsure, but Joshua’s knowledge of dog behavior and temperament was so impressive! He was able to confidently assess the situation and reassure me that the two dogs would be fine together. I left Duke with Joshua for the weekend while I went out of town, and he kept me completely at ease with lots of photos and updates showing the dogs getting along great. He even went above and beyond by accommodating a last minute request to extend Duke’s stay. Joshua is reliable, experienced, and clearly cares about the dogs in his care. I’d absolutely recommend him to anyone and will definitely be booking with him again! 🐾

Schedule

Pet care isn’t something I “squeeze in” — it’s built into my daily routine. With my own rescue animals at home, and work as a rescue foster coordinator and behavioral analyst, caring for pets is already a natural part of my mornings, evenings, and weekends. Feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and grooming are second nature to me. I plan my day around making sure animals get the time and attention they need — not the other way around. Whether that means early morning walks, mid-day check-ins, or winding down at night with play and comfort, I’ve built my lifestyle around consistency and stability for the animals in my care. On a weekly level, that means: Daily structure (set times for feeding, exercise, and enrichment). Flexibility to adjust for special needs (medications, anxiety, senior pets). Dedicated time blocks to make sure your pets aren’t rushed or treated like a side-task. In short: pet care is my schedule. I live it every day, with my own rescues and any animals trusted to me.

Safety, trust & environment

Boarding in My Home When pets stay with me, they become part of my household “pack.” I create a calm, structured environment where they can feel safe and included. Feeding, exercise, and enrichment are scheduled consistently with my own pets, but individualized to match each guest’s needs. I’m experienced at integrating new animals, reducing stress during transitions, and giving anxious or high-energy pets the extra time and reassurance they need. Pet Sitting in Client’s Home When I’m in your space, I make sure your pet feels comfort in their familiar environment. I follow your routines exactly — from feeding times to walks to quirks like favorite sleeping spots or special bedtime rituals. I maintain your home respectfully while keeping your pet company, making the transition while you’re away as stress-free as possible. Daily Check-Ins For pets who don’t need full-time sitting, I provide check-ins for feeding, litter changes, short walks, and a little play or cuddle time. I don’t just “pop in and out” — I take time to actually connect, so your pet gets both their basic needs met and a little love and attention to break up their day. Dog Walking Service I provide structured, safe walks that fit each dog’s energy level and personality. Whether that’s a high-energy husky who needs backyard zoomies first, or a senior pup who just wants a slow, steady stroll, I tailor the walk to the dog. Safety, hydration, and positive reinforcement are my priorities, and I never take on more than I can handle safely at once.

Pets

A typical day

I believe pets deserve more than just the basics — they deserve enrichment, laughter, and joy while their people are away. Some of the fun things I do with pets include: Play Sessions Tailored to Them Dogs: fetch, tug-of-war, backyard zoomies, hide-and-seek games, and puzzle toys to engage their minds. Cats: feather wands, laser pointers, climbing and pouncing play, or just chasing crinkly paper if that’s their style. Small pets: gentle floor-time for guinea pigs, safe toys and tunnels for hedgehogs, and interaction that matches their comfort level. Walks and Adventures Daily walks matched to the dog’s age and energy level. Exploring safe new routes for stimulation, or sticking to familiar paths for nervous dogs. For high-energy pups (like huskies), play that burns energy and builds trust. Enrichment and Comfort Training reinforcement (sitting, recall, leash manners) woven into play. Snuggles, brushing, or belly rubs for animals who crave affection. Quiet companionship for seniors or anxious pets — sometimes the best “activity” is a warm lap and soft words. Creative Bonding Making homemade frozen treats for dogs on hot days. Setting up mini “obstacle courses” indoors for fun challenges. Relaxing together — pets love having someone just be there with them.

Please let me know ahead of time about any health conditions, medications, behavioral quirks, or social challenges your pet may have. Knowing in advance helps me provide the best care possible and keep their routines consistent. That said, I want to be clear: no diagnosis, condition, or quirk will ever cause me to cancel or turn away your pet. I’m experienced with anxious animals, rescues, seniors, and pets who need extra patience or medical support. I’m fully capable of administering medications (oral or topical), managing special diets, and adapting my approach to fit their unique needs. Your pet will always be safe, cared for, and accepted exactly as they are.
