At-Home Comfort & Beagle-Approved

Dogs have always been a part of my family, and I've had my own pups since 2008. I’ve supported my pets through every stage of life, from puppy to seniors! (That includes administering oral, ear, and eye medications for senior dogs.) I provide reliable care to house-trained, well-behaved pups—typically medium-sized, though I’m happy to consider larger dogs on a case-by-case basis. My beagle (Charlotte) is gentle and welcoming, and makes visitors feel right at home.

Chewbacca (Chewy) had a wonderful stay with Josh and Leah. We recieved pictures often and updates on how he was doing. He was well taken care of as if he was a member of their own family. We highly recommend Joshua and Leah for your dogs stay! We can't thank them enough for their kindness to our Chewy!

Josh and Leah (and Charlotte and Max) took care of our dog Max for two weeks. They sent photos every day were easily communicative giving us updates. They took the dogs on daily long walks. Our pup came home happy and tired! We would absolutely trust them again and hope to book again with them.

You can trust your dog will get all the conscientious care and playtime s/he needs with this sweet and fun-loving family (the humans and the resident dogs). Josh works from home, so your pup won't be left alone for long periods. I don't trust just anyone with my girl, but I trust this family 100%. 10/10 would recommend!

Schedule

I work from home full time, so I’m around more often than not. Weekend boarding is A-OK, and your dog will get consistent attention throughout the day. Your pup(s) will get to enjoy our single-family home, where we go on daily 2-3 mile walks and get plenty of outdoor potty breaks. Our yard isn't enclosed, but we have proper space to tether outdoors on our porch and yard for some outdoor alone time, and our dog (and yours!) will get frequent potty breaks outside throughout the day. Of course - we'll stick with your dog's regular feeding schedule and dietary needs. Note that we only board for one family at a time. While we can comfortably host one dog, we may be able to accommodate two from the same home environment.

Safety, trust & environment

We live in a full-size single family home with plenty of space to explore and relax. Since we have a dog ourselves, our space is already set up for comfort, with multiple dog beds, window-watching spots, clean floors and surfaces, and cozy nooks. Dogs are welcome on the furniture (just not overnight in bed!). Our home environment is quiet and stress-free, and our son is gentle and respectful with pets. Your dog will have a calm, safe, and fun environment with ample attention and responsible dog lovers while you're gone. Look forward to hearing from you!

Pets

A typical day

In the morning, we have breakfast, play time, and a nice long walk (weather-pending). Throughout the afternoon, pups get small bouts of play and attention, as well as several areas to find peace and quiet or to join our beagle for play! In the evening, when the family is home, we have dinner and play time, as well as a short walk in one of the nearby outdoor areas, such as Noble Woods park or the Setton Home area. Before bed, there's always play time and a potty break.

Things we would need to know in advance about your dog: 1- Any health issues or medications that need to be administered. 2- Typical eating behaviors and dietary needs. (i.e., our beagle has a chicken allergy) 3- Typical sleeping behaviors and night time needs (if any). 4- Behavioral/socialization issues that we need to be aware of (such as any aggression towards unfamiliar dogs, animals, or people), 5- General demeanor (i.e, high energy, protective, if they like a specific toy or kind of play) 6- Anything else about their schedule, favorite toys and treats, known cues/commands etc., so we can accommodate in ways that makes your pet feel safe and comfortable.
