I have owned cats all my life and currently own one cat and one dog, both of whom are rescues. My dog did not have the best start to life and as a result continues to require consistent training and guidance to live a stress-reduced life. As I have helped my reactive dog get adjusted to life in a loving home, I've learned that I have a passion for interacting with dogs, or any animal, of all shapes, sizes, and breeds without discrimination. I value creating a trusting bond each animal I interact with and each pet owner that I meet. I recognize that each animal I meet may require specific considerations while providing services and am comfortable with most temperaments that I come across (like I said, having a reactive dog myself has taught me lots of valuable lessons). I have provided drop in care for several family members' animals including both cats and dogs of all sizes. I have volunteered with animal shelters by taking dogs for walks and providing play time. Unfortunately, my neighborhood has several dogs who have gotten out of their yards, however on multiple occasions I have safely leashed the animals and worked with various vet offices to get them returned to their owners. I value direct communication and constructive feedback from pet owners in order to help me provide the type of care that your animal deserves.

I care for pets in my own home with love first and foremost but also with clear expectations of what behavior is acceptable. I regularly provide playtime for both of my animals and do obedience training with my dog daily (I am not a certified dog trainer, however have picked up lots of knowledge and skills working with the reputable trainers in my area for my dog).

I’m especially amazed by the second chance at life he gave his dog, Weasel, and how well-trained Weasel is today. Josh is simply the most loving and responsible pet caregiver you’ll ever find.
Josh D is one of the most loving, patient and kind animal parents I’ve ever seen! He took in his doggy and kitty both as rescues and he has provided them a safe loving home and they are both thriving. His doggy came to him in rough shape and he has totally turned him around into a playful, happy, loving fella. He provided him the nutrition he needed and has patiently shown him what love and trust looks like between a dog and his family. Your fur babies will be in great hands with Josh.

Schedule
Whether you need help while you're at work or need someone to walk the dog while you take care of things at home, my schedule can be flexible. I currently work from home, so please message me the times you require services to ensure availability.
