It sincerely brings me great joy working and being around animals, especially dogs & cats. I’ve had cats as pets for over 20 years, and having the privilege to engage with them has truly enriched my quality of life and has given me an even greater love and understanding of animals. I’ve cared for neighborhood and family dogs since I was a child, but I am finally taking care of my own pup for the past 5 years now. In addition to teaching my doggo love and patience, I am happy to say that I have successfully taught her numerous tricks and crucial commands that a dog should know for safety and protection. I am an aspiring dog trainer, and I am confident that I can teach and influence your dog in encouraging ways as well! 🥰

Joseph has been consistently a great walker for my dog. Communicated well all through the week I was away. Made sure there was ample food and water out as well. I will always work with Joseph whenever I need to.
Joseph was a dream come true. He sent us pictures and videos several times a day which showed our boys being walked, interacting with other dogs and peacefully sleeping. Our 7 night vacation was enhanced because of Joseph and his care for our boys. We will absolutely be asking Joseph to board our boys again!!
My dog loves Joe! It’s the best part of his day when Joe shows up and takes him out for some great exercise!

My name is Joey and I am a part-time college student who does Rover full-time, leaving me with all the time in the world to provide quality pet care for your beloved animal. I quit my old manager job at Starbucks for mental health reasons, but being around animals has always greatly helped me to get into a better headspace, thus why I enjoy doing Rover so much. My goal as an animal caretaker/lover is to provide the most exceptional quality time of my undivided and fully committed attention. Your furry companions are in paws-itively great and capable hands with me.

I care for pets by being mindful, engaging and active with them. Pets can get into troublesome behavior in a matter of seconds, so being observant and paying attention to their body language/needs has been a very useful practice to help avoid harm or stress to a pet. Most pets/dogs just crave attention and engagement, and that’s one thing that I love to provide for them.

A typical day
With my own pup, a typical day consists of us taking long, adventurous walks, usually trying to take new routes for her to explore and to familiarize herself with an area (I do these activities with all the dogs I sit as well). She loves parks and anywhere she’d possibly run into a squirrel. Most dogs love running around and playing fetch, so throwing the ball around with them is one of my favorite activities. I also like to pamper dogs I care for with affectionate pets & cuddles when necessary. I also find it beneficial to reward dogs with treats and words of affirmations for good behavior, and for just existing!

- It’s beneficial to know if your dog gets along with other dogs, pets, or humans; so I can be extra mindful of those details whenever your animal is in my care. Also, if an animal has any specific triggers or out of the ordinary behaviors to be aware of. Another important detail to know is how you specifically reward or correct an animal with their “good/bad” behavior.
