**I try to schedule meet and greets for all new client boardings. We can do in-person or virtual meetings. Drop-off and pick-up times are usually flexible. I will accommodate your schedule as much as possible, but if the hours are too late, we may need to reschedule for a later time or the next day. I work remotely from home. When I go out, it would be for about an 1-2 hours at the most Monday-Friday. I do leave and return several times per day. At times, the duration for potty breaks can last 2-4 hours--on rare occasions. I can provide potty breaks often, with full access to the backyard. On weekends, potty breaks might be a bit longer.

Safety, trust & environment
Safety is our highest priority with two children at home. Any dogs who have a history of aggressive behavior or no exposure to children will not be a good fit for us. Barky or jumpy dogs will also trigger stress for the dog and for our family. Please be mindful prior to requesting me if your dog is “barky” or jumpy due to occasional noises. Our community can be noisy. Reactive dogs may not be a good fit for our home due to two children in the home and an active family. I prefer crate trained dogs. I have both a small and medium-sized crate and can be used as a back-up. The crate would be used at bedtime, or for short periods when I leave the home. Doggy beds are also welcomed. I also have some supplies. For dogs who have a history of separation anxiety, I find crates to be a helpful tool to promote a calm and peaceful environment. Feel free to book a trial run with me too!

Information Josefina G. would like to know about your pet
Current updates about your dog. Energy level or changes when in other people’s homes. Current feeding schedule, diet and routines. Allergies? No-no's? Medical conditions we should be aware of. Medications? Where do they sleep? Crate training history? If not crate trained, can they remain in a doggy bed all night without pacing? How much exposure have they had with children? How do they do with children? Separation anxiety? If so, what does this look like for your dog? I appreciate transparency and communication.
A typical day
Walks, play, lounging at my home office. A family who will be welcoming, provide attention, exercise and walks around the neighborhood. Individualized attention, TLC and lots of love. Enjoying the sunshine. Companionship while working from home, with direct access to the backyard.

Pet care experience
***Pet sitting on Rover since 2015. My pet care experience includes volunteering fostering rescues with Wonder Dog Rescue, Grateful Dogs Rescue and with the SF/SPCA shelter. I have also volunteered as a dog walker at the SF/SPCA. Worked with dogs with a wide range of issues including seniors, dogs with medical needs, trauma and abuse/neglect. I have a special love for my work with the rescue community. I work from home—hybrid. This gives the opportunity to provide individualized time to all dog clients. Only one dog at a time. We are in Daly City, next to the SF boarder and a short 15 min ride to SFO. Great plus! Our kids love dogs and are good with all types of dogs.
Reviews

I was recommended Josefina as a knowledgeable and experienced dog sitter, and after meeting her, I could see right away how much she and her family truly love animals. It is such a relief to be able to leave Oscar knowing he is in such capable and caring hands. He received so much love and attention that it was like his own little vacation! I can definitely recommend Josefina to anyone looking for a great sitter.

Josefina was great taking care of Minnie. She made sure she had all the info she needed on Minnie’s normal routine. She was very communicative throughout the day sending updates on how Minnie was doing. Would definitely have Minnie stay with her again!

This is our fourth time staying with Josefina. I am always so grateful for her care and attention with my dog.

I had the pleasure of leaving my dog in Josefina’s care twice. She has a wonderful family, and her kids are absolutely lovely. From the moment I met them, I felt completely at ease knowing my dog would be in such great hands. I had peace of mind throughout the entire time, confident that my dog was not only being well cared for but also enjoying the love and attention of a truly kind and caring family. I highly recommend Josefina and her family for anyone looking for trustworthy and compassionate pet care.
