I've been nicknamed the "dog whisperer" by both friends and complete strangers. More than once, I've been told, "My dog usually doesn't warm up to strangers," only to have us become fast friends. I know every dog has a unique personality, and I enjoy taking the time to earn their trust at their own pace. I have two dogs of my own: Teddy, a Great Pyrenees/Pit Bull mix I adopted from the Boulder Humane Society, and Jersey, a Mini Aussie my fiancé brought into my life. Caring for two very different dogs has taught me that there is no one-size-fits-all approach. Teddy loves the dog park, but gets possessive on leash and needs to be walked with extra vigilance. He prefers several shorter walks throughout the day. Jersey is more timid, cautious around unfamiliar dogs, and is happiest with one long morning walk in quieter settings, but also can’t wait to paddle board or hike a 14er (she’s done 14 so far). Beyond my own dogs, I also have experience caring for friends', family members', and neighbors' pets with different personalities, energy levels, and routines. Whether your dog loves adventure or prefers a slower pace, I'll make sure they receive the care, exercise, and attention that's right for them.
