Depending on your pet’s specific needs, I’ll adjust my routine accordingly. For example, if your dog is a working breed who might need lots of stimulation, I’d take it outdoors for trail runs and put together scent puzzles to keep them engaged. If your dog is reactive, we’d avoid triggers and keep potential triggers at a safe distance. I’ll adhere to your normal routine as much as I can so that your pets feel as comfortable as possible. It’s important to give dogs outside enrichment, and I love staying active. Also, although I am not yet a trainer, I have ample experience in working with dogs in positively reinforcing desired behaviors. I can help you understand your pup better

I like to know your daily routine and any expectations for your dog, rules they (we) need to abide by in your home, (ex. not allowed on furniture). Please let me know of any behaviors, health concerns, medications, special needs or diets your dog may have. I love to take care of special needs and senior dogs, I’ll just need to know what to anticipate. :)
A typical day
A typical day would only slightly vary depending on your dogs age and breed, and of course your specifications. I enjoy being outdoors and most likely your dog does too! If your dog is a cuddle bug, I will snuggle with them during down time. I believe nose-work (sniffing) and exercise are non negotiable forms of enrichment and stimulation. Besides walks, I can run with your dog or put together scent-puzzles to engage their brain and make sure they’re tuckered out for a good nights sleep!

Hi! I’m Jordan. (often known by “Jo”) I am certified in animal welfare. I have 7+ years working in professional dog care - it’s what I do! I grew up in a house full of mastiffs. Then began my love of dogs, and ever since, I’ve cared for just about every breed imaginable. My care is special because I take special attention to details others might not notice or understand - my understanding of dog behavior and psychology are especially valuable in caring for the overall well-being of your pet. Some of my experience includes being a kennel technician, dog walker, overseeing doggy-daycare with a blend of many dogs large and small, administering medications, raising puppies, senior dog care, walking dogs with reactivity, accommodating disabled/special needs dogs, — & more. I live on a farm and look after pigs, goats, chickens, ducks and our two livestock guardian dogs. I like to stay busy and I don’t mind getting dirty. I also clean up! :) Overall, the most important thing to me is that the quality of the care I provide equals a positive and uniquely curated experience for each animal I work with. Gentleness and understanding are my superpowers. As I no longer have a dog of my own, I extend my ultimate love and service to every animal I care for. *Currently navigating becoming a certified dog trainer*

We found Jordan on Rover after our former dog/house sitter retired, and we couldn't be happier that we found her! Jordan not only provided in home sitting, she reinforced training with our spunky 3 year old Golden, took pur pups on outside enrichment walks around the yard, and provided lots of pictures throughout our time away so we didn't miss any of our dog's cuteness. Jordan is by far the best sitter we have had stay with our girls, she checked in daily to let us know things were going well and informed us if she needed to be away for any amount of time. We are so thankful to have Jordan as our dogsitter!
We can't say enough wonderful things about Jo! She was able to help us out very last minute during a difficult time for our family and immediately put us at ease, relieving any anxiety we had about leaving our dog and cat (and we have a lot of anxiety!). She was incredibly communicative, professional, knowledgable, and kind. Her updates were informative, prompt, joyful, and made clear to us that we were not missed much by our fur babies because they had found one of their new favorite humans. She also left our house cleaner than we left it. We are so happy to have found her, she truly went above and beyond in every way caring for our pets and home.
Absolutely amazing sitter! Our dog LOVED her and she even won over our incredibly shy cat that normally only lets me pet him. We have family members who have lived with him for years and have still not pet him but she got him to accept her and even let her pet him. The house was clean when we returned, communication was great with lots of photos and she left us a nice note summarizing her stay. Very, very happy we found Jo!
Jordan is awesome! She dropped in to check on my dogs for me while I was away. She took great pics of them and provided detail updates on how they were that made me feel at ease while I was away. I highly recommend her
