i currently work full-time as a marketing project coordinator here in springfield, but my schedule is super consistent, which makes pet care easy to plan around. i’m fully available early mornings, evenings, and weekends — aka the exact times most pets need the most attention anyway. honestly, pet care fits really naturally into my routine because i already structure my days around consistency, timing, and attention to detail (very much my job lol). whether it’s early morning drop-ins, evening walks/feeds, or weekend coverage, i’m able to show up reliably and keep things on schedule. i also prioritize making time for it — this isn’t an afterthought for me. i genuinely enjoy it, and i like having that balance outside of my 9–5. so when i’m with your pet, they’re getting my full attention, not me rushing through a checklist to get to the next thing.

i’m open to traveling anywhere around the springfield area to accommodate what you need. when i’m in a client’s home, i’m super respectful of your space — i treat it like i would my own and make sure everything stays clean, calm, and exactly how you left it. my approach is really centered on keeping your pet’s routine as normal and stress-free as possible. i’ll follow any instructions closely — feeding, meds, walk schedules, quirks, all of it — and make sure your pet feels comfortable in their environment while you’re away. i’m also very mindful of energy and temperament, so whether your pet needs a lot of activity, structured walks, or just a calm presence, i adjust to them. i’m especially great for early mornings, evenings, and weekends, which tends to be when pets need the most consistency anyway with a typical work schedule. overall, i’m not just popping in and out — i’m making sure your pet is cared for in a way that feels familiar, safe, and genuinely attentive, while also respecting your home and any specific expectations you have.

i like to know anything that helps me keep your pet comfortable and safe — their routine (feeding, walks, meds if needed), temperament, and any quirks or triggers. like if they’re shy at first, reactive with other dogs, scared of certain noises, or have any habits i should be aware of. also helpful to know what they love — favorite toys, treats, where they like to sleep, how they usually wind down, etc. i want to keep things as normal as possible for them while you’re away. and then just any house-related notes that tie into their care (where things are, emergency contacts, vet info, etc.). i’m very much a “the more detail the better” person — it helps me make sure your pet gets the exact care they’re used to and you feel totally at ease leaving them.
A typical day
walks, playing fetch, snuggles, and yes… fully willing to put on the secret life of pets 1 & 2 if that’s their vibe 😂 i like to match whatever energy your pet has — i have experience with an active staffy girl, so i’m very used to high-energy play, getting those steps in, and keeping them engaged. but if your pet is more of a lounge-and-cuddle type, i’m just as happy hanging with them and keeping things calm. i also like to mix in a little mental stimulation (toys, light training reinforcement if you already do that, etc.) so they’re not just physically tired but mentally content too. basically — i’m here for whatever makes your pet happiest and most comfortable, whether that’s playtime, chill time, or a little bit of both.

i’m open to traveling around springfield to accommodate whatever you need. my experience with dogs goes way beyond casual pet care — during my mom’s cancer journey, i was heavily involved in caring for her great danes and pitbull, so i’m very comfortable handling large breeds, strong personalities, and more involved routines - that time really shaped how i show up as a caregiver. i’m calm, patient, and very tuned into an animal’s behavior and needs — whether that’s high-energy, anxious, protective, or just wanting to be left alone lol. i’m not easily overwhelmed, and i take their safety and comfort seriously. i also understand how much trust it takes to leave your pets with someone, especially when they’re used to a certain routine. i’m extremely detail-oriented and will follow instructions exactly — feeding schedules, meds, quirks, all of it. what sets me apart is that i don’t just “watch” pets — i care for them in a way that keeps their environment consistent, stress low, and their personality respected. and you’ll always get updates because i know how important that peace of mind is. i am also a regular volunteer with local organization Rescue One! 💜 can't wait to meet you & your fur babies!

We could not be more pleased with Jonna. She kept us informed with just enough texts and pictures that we knew thery were being well cared for. One example included "We all fell asleep on the couch last night." We knew all was well as that is typical of my wife and her "babies". We will would give 10 stars if we could.
Jonna is more than your average dog lover! Not only Does she have multiple pups of her own, but she’s also taken care of my fur babies on more than one occasion and has done a phenomenal job. She’s tentative, patient, kind and caring. She really treats them like one of her own which is what any dog sitter would want. Super thankful she is always around when we need her! And so are Thor and Ariel 🐶!
Jonna has to be the most responsible, hard-working, pet-loving person I know. She's punctual and respectful to those around her, human and dogs alike. She would offer great value to the Rover team.
