Your pet care needs, my pleasure.
Like many others, I've cared for a variety of animals since I was a child. The farm animals were fine, but it is the dogs and cats that really drew my love. Other than my college years, I have never been pet-less during my entire life. So you can rest assured I will treat your pets with the same care I do my own. Recently I was a "puppy raiser" for Leader Dogs for the Blind, which meant I raised and trained a dog (Betty) from roughly 2 months old through 13 months old. Upon her return for formal training, the breeding department selected her to be a breeding mom. So I therefore hosted her during her pregnancy, and she birthed her puppies in my home. And after 7 weeks of caring for those little bundles of joy, returned them to continue on their training with new host families, at which time Betty was officially retired and has become a member of my family. The puppy raising and participation in the breeding program gave me additional training, education and insights into the world of dog care.

Safety, trust & environment
If I am coming to you for walking or sitting, I will rely on your guidance to help me make the experience best for your pet. You know the best walks/locations/etc, so I'll follow your lead! And obviously any specific needs (i.e. medication) will be done according to your instruction. I also offer dog running in addition to dog walking! So if your dog wants or needs to go further or faster than a walk allows, I am up for that as well. If you are coming to me, then I will welcome your pet with open arms. I am located on 20 acres of private land, centrally positioned on the Leelanau Peninsula. While it is not fenced, it provides a great area for exploration away from traffic/congestion (leashed of course). Depending on what your pet is comfortable with, I can have up to three other dogs present to play with or none at all. My ex-wife and I are very amicable and share our three dogs daily, so it is easy to adjust who and/or how many are here.

Jonathan is great! My dog Frankie is super shy, but has really warmed up to Jonathan. He takes his time with him and gives really wonderful, thorough updates about his visits. Would absolutely recommend!

Our boys loved their week of drop ins and dinners with Jonathan! Everyday when I got home the pups were happy to see me but clearly had been well cared for during the day, which put my mind at ease. Jonathan provided great updates and pictures from each visit. His kind heart and care were reflected in my boys’ behavior each day I got home - happy, calm, and content. Maybe even a little more tired than usual from the good walks and play time he provided 😊 We will happily have him back!

Jonathon was great dropping in with our goldendoodle. We knew when he was arriving, leaving and he filled out a report for every check in. We’d definitely book with him again!!!

Schedule
My current work schedule is very flexible, enabling me to be available for your pets needs pretty much anytime. Obviously the more heads-up you give me the better I can accommodate your ideal schedule, but don't hesitate to reach out with last minute requests either!
