Hi! I'm Jonathan, a San Diego local. I've owned dogs for more than 20 years. The first dog that was all my own was Parker, a corgi-beagle mix. I got him at 8 weeks old and cared for him until he passed at age 9. He loved spending time at dog beaches, dog-friendly restaurants, and breweries. Prior to Parker I had Alley, a rescued mini poodle mix. I cared for her into her adult and senior years, until she reached about 19 years old. My years with Parker and Alley taught me that every dog has their own pace, but they all appreciate structure. They also taught me the importance of paying attention and getting to know each dog. Dogs can't tell you when something's off, so small changes in appetite and behavior matter. I like to be playful and goofy with dogs (I talk to them like people), but I also know it's my job to make sure they feel safe and know what to expect. I will follow your established routine and rules, and can also help reinforce good behaviors. What you and your fur baby can expect: - Reliability. My schedule is flexible and mostly open on weekdays, so I can do midday walks, last-minute drop-ins, and stays of any length, including single nights. If plans change, I tell you right away. - Clear communication. You'll get a photo and a quick note after every visit so you always know how your dog is doing. - Walks that are more than a potty break. I like getting outside and exploring new routes and spots, and I keep control of the walk so it stays safe. - Experience beyond walks. I've cared for dogs overnight, including week-long stays. I'm comfortable with puppies, senior dogs, and every age in between. I'd love to do a meet-and-greet with you and your dog, so we can get comfortable before the first visit.
