Pet care experience

Experienced & Confident Pet Pro :)

Hi! Thanks for stopping by. I will keep this concise and informative! I have been doing this full time for a very long time now; several years! I have delivered newborn puppies (without notice!), worked with plenty of rescues, trained puppies (and adults), administered IV and medication, etc. I am very adaptable! Just know that if something comes up, I can handle it. I was a boy scout, after all! Before I did this full time, I worked at various jobs that gave me valuable experience but also left me wanting something more meaningful. I do this because I love it and because I aspire to do meaningful work and build meaningful connections! It’s just you, me, and your pets! Happy pet, happy owner, happy me! I’m extremely easy to communicate with, I am very attuned to the energy of animals and mindful of their body language, I am a photographer so you get really nice photos, etc. I send a morning update and evening update every day so you never need to wonder how things are going. I’ve had plenty of people tell me the photos are their favorite part and that they love to show friends and family! I do have a DSLR camera if you ever want some really snazzy photos! I’m very active and healthy so if your dog needs playtime or exercise that’s easy. I also can do WFH type work and hang out while your dog sleeps all day. My ultimate goal is for your pets to be happy and for you to feel complete peace of mind. If you have any questions, just let me know! I look forward to getting to know you and your pets! Thanks again! :) - Jonathan

Safety, trust & environment

I have worked with animals from all kinds of backgrounds! I have delivered newborn puppies, worked with training with growing puppies, administered IVs to senior dogs, cared for rescues who needed weeks of building rapport, etc. I am extremely mindful of the environment I am in and the patterns that people/animals display. On walks I am very cautious about any bones or snacks, etc.

Jonathan did an excellent job watching our dog, June. He was communicative, shared beautiful pictures of June each day, and left our house cleaner than he found it. I felt completely at ease while traveling because of his proactive communication and attentiveness. I look forward to hiring Jonathan again!

Jonathan stayed in our home for a few nights while we were out of town watching our dog Daisy. He was very communicative with us on setting up a time to meet before the stay and sent lots of updates during the stay! He took Daisy on long walks and provided lots of exercise. Daisy seemed very happy!!

Jonathan would be a wonderful sitter for an independent or fully grown dog, however, I would not recommend him to owners of young puppies. We provided a very detailed schedule for our 6 month old Italian greyhound puppy, which clearly called for two pee breaks at 7 and 8 PM (this is her most active period of the day, at which point she has consumed a good amount of water). On our way back to the house, we realized that the Furbo (which Jonathan knew about) had recorded two straight hours of our puppy screaming in her crate, from 6:15 till 8:15 PM. She had also peed and pooped in the crate, and chewed through an electrical cord, which had never happened before. Jonathan was not up front with us beforehand about needing to leave for another dog walking job during this time—if he had been, we never would’ve booked him. He had the schedule and notes in advance of the stay, and he never expressed any concerns about the expectations we outlined. Only when we got home, visibly upset about the audio recordings we found, did he express that he felt he hadn’t been compensated enough (I do not set his rates — he does), while scoffing at the amount of guidance we had provided (I thought more details were better than less, which he had previously agreed with). I don’t think he meant any harm, but puppies this age are extremely vulnerable to adverse emotional experiences, and our dog is now avoiding her crate altogether (after we spent 4 months training her to enjoy it in there). I’m not sure why he chose to leave her crated through two of her scheduled potty breaks, let alone directly after feeding her dinner—It’s common knowledge that puppies need to be taken out after meals—but I can’t shake the feeling that he wouldn’t have told us the extent of his absence had we not provided the audio recordings as proof. She was in clear distress, and this was a breach of our trust that he would take her out at the agreed upon times. Again, I’m sure Jonathan is a wonderful sitter for dogs who are prepared to be alone for long periods of time, but I feel compelled to leave this review so that other puppy owners can make an informed decisions about who they put their trust in. A puppy sitting job is not easy, and I wish he had been more clear and honest about his limitations and reservations prior to watching our pet, who we love dearly.

Jonathan stayed with Roland for 10 nights and couldn’t have done a better job! He sent daily updates with lots of pictures and we could clearly tell Roland was having the best time! We had some travel delays on our way home and Jonathan was a lifesaver and super flexible about staying with Roland until we could get back. We came back to a tidy home and a happy pup. We would love to have Jonathan watch Roland again.
