Pet care experience
Your pet is In great hands with Maggie and I! I have over 30 years experience being a dog owner, lover and a caregiver. I live in the West end of Regina in a small home in Dieppe. It’s just Mags and I, so we have lots of time and attention to give your loved ones. We also love long walks on the bike path one block away. I have a fully fenced yard where the dogs play, or if you have a smaller, inside dog that’s cool too - We can chill on the couch and watch some hockey or re-runs of the Dave Chappelle standup specials. Your dog will love my place, trust me. They may even learn a new trick or two.
Reviews

John was an excellent dog boarder. She got lots of love. Easy to communicate with also! Will rebook if needed

Scout seemed to enjoy his time at Jon’s. He got along with Jon’s dog and was in happy spirits when I picked him up. I would definitely use Jon again as a pet sitter!

STATEMENT Regarding Gromek’s injury while in Jon Paskaruk’s care on 10th - 11th of August, 2024 in Regina, SK On Aug. 10Th, 2024 at 9 AM I dropped off my dog Gromek at Jon’s place. I told him that Gromek is a 8 month puppy cocker spaniel, very friendly with people and highly energetic. I left a small bag with 3 portions of Gromek’s dried kibble to be given to him around noon and around 5 PM on the 10th and last 1/3rd in the morning on the 11th. I said that I will pick Gromek up around 2 PM on the 11th. When I arrived on the 11th at 2 PM Jon came to the door carrying Gromek under his arm, then he stepped back to retrieve the dog’s leash which I put around Gromek’s neck. I asked about Jon’s availability to take care of Gromek once again on Aug. 18th and 19th. He checked his calendar and said that he could do it. Jon told me at that time that Gromek played a lot with Jon’s own dog Maggie and another dog belonging to his brother and this is why Gromek might be exhausted and quiet. Jon also told me that at some point Gromek escaped his yard by pushing away a board or boards around his (back?) gate. Apparently he run away into the back lane and there or in the yard he got into a bug puddle and Jon had to clean him up. My wife and I had to help Gromek to get into the car instead of him as usually jumping into his place. During drive home (approx. 10 minutes away) we noticed that the dog was unusually quiet and shaking a lot. Upon arrival at the front of our house we were met by the next door neighbour with whom Gromek is very friendly and normally runs to her to be greeted and petted. It didn’t happened this time and we all noticed that Gromek walked to my front gate on three legs keeping the left hind one up in the air, not putting any weight on it. I examined the leg and noticed that in between the pads and on the hair was a red discolouring consistent with blood. Immediately I called Jon and inform him about the situation. In the following hours Gromek was very withdrawn, not the usual “happy cocker” himself, didn’t want to eat or drink and foremost didn’t want to play with his ball, walking around only on three legs or favouring his injured leg and licking it. August 11th being Sunday I couldn’t get appointment at the usual Vet Clinic and only on Monday, the 12th, we’ve seen a veterinarian in the afternoon. She thoroughly examined Gromek and conclude that he has some abrasions on the pads of his left hind paw with possibly of something sharp stuck inside the pads. She suggested that injury might be from a shard of glass or some sharp wire. Gromek received 7 day course prescription of antibiotic pills to stave off any possible infection. The bill came to 133 Canadian funds. Upon returning home I called Jon informing him about the result of the visit at the veterinary clinic and suggested the he should pay at least 50% of the Vet’s bill. Jon initially balk at this claiming that until handing Gromek to me the dog was in excellent shape and spirit. Jon suggested that it might have happened between his door and my car parked on the street 20 feet away(!?) which is an absurd theory. He adamantly denied any possibility or responsibility that the injury happened while Gromek was in his care. In the consequent phone call to me Jon offered to pay 50% of the vet’s bill pending coverage of his insurance by Rover but still denying and deflecting any blame. After long to-and-fro between us on the phone I hang up on him not being able to stomach any longer his cockamamy explanations. Following that Jon send me several messages through your service Rover, to which I didn’t answer. In conclusion: I DO NOT want to deal in the future with Jon or Rover in any shape or form. I will not get embroiled in any insurance claims and I don’t want any partial or full reimbursement of the vet’s bill from Jon.
Jon was absolutely amazing with communication and took excellent care of both my dogs. Thank you so much for all you did and I guarantee we will use him again. Amazing. Thank you.
