Hi, I'm Jon, an American animal lover exploring life in Den Bosch. I grew up around animals. I volunteered at the Seattle Animal Shelter for three years, and I spent five years as a full-time dog walker and pet sitter. From chihuahuas to mastiffs, Labradors to lizards, tortoises to tortoiseshell cats, I've probably cared for one. I'm neurodivergent, and honestly, it gives me an inside track with pets. I'm patient in a way that doesn't run out. I move at their pace. I notice the small things. Animals seem to sense it, and even the ones who don't usually like strangers warm up to me. I volunteer weekly at Dierentehuis 's-Hertogenbosch because this has never just been a job. I have no pets of my own. When I'm with yours, they have my full attention. No distractions. No competition. Before every stay, I'll ask about your pet's habits, routines, fears, favorite toys, how they like to play, and any house rules. I want to follow their normal life as closely as possible. During visits and walks, I send photo and video updates so you're never left wondering. Still learning Dutch, but completely fluent in animal. 🐾

I can't take in other pets where I live, but I'm quite experienced at watching other peoples' pets in their homes. In order to earn and maintain your trust, I strive to give your pet(s) the best possible care and treat your home with respect and privacy. I'll have questions about your pet(s) and their usual habits, and I want to follow any rules you have in your home while affecting it as little as possible.

I highly recommend Jon! He was so gentle and patient with Gnarly, and I felt completely at ease leaving him at home for a week. He took great care of him, sent lots of photos and videos after every visit, and even watered my plants even though it wasn't part of his job. I’ll definitely contact Jon again next time I go on holiday. Thank you so much — I’m sure Gnarly loved you too!
Jon kan heel goed met onze hond omgaan en is erg goed in heldere en prettige afspraken met ons. Hij begrijpt waar hij op moet letten voor een fijne wandeling en goede zorg. Onze hond was meteen gek op hem. Hij begrijpt onze Foxterriër perfect en al zijn gedragsbijzonderheden pakt hij geweldig op. Jon is great with my dog and with appointments. He perfectly understands how to handle and take care of our Fox Terriër.
Jon was great with our two cats! He responded quickly to messages and gave us timely updates. You can tell that he really likes cats and knows how to approach and handle them.
Cannot recommend more highly Jon for your pet sitting needs. He has been watching our two dogs, a mini dachshund and a weimaraner, for over two years now. He has been a great source of comfort when we travel, knowing that the dogs are well attended to and receiving great care. The pups enjoy snuggling with him and feel completely comfortable and safe around him. You won't need to worry at all while your pets are in Jon's care.
My dog always loves spending time with Jon, he was a big hit with my new kittens as well!
Jon did an amazing job of connecting with both of our Irish wolfhounds. He did a perfect job of feeding the girls with their needs and schedule. The house looked as though we had only went to the theater instead of Mexico for a week. Thanks again Jon for a wonderful job!

Schedule
I work from home in the Centrum of Den Bosch. My schedule is flexible, and I'm happy to walk, bike, or take a bus to care for your pet(s) when needed.
