Safety is always a priority when I’m caring for someone’s pet. During walks, I’ll make sure dogs are securely leashed before leaving the home and stay aware of traffic, other animals, weather conditions, and our surroundings. I’ll follow any instructions provided by the owner, including preferred walking routes and how their dog interacts with other people or animals. During drop-in visits, I’ll make sure doors, gates, and any other entrances are properly secured so pets cannot accidentally get outside. I’ll also respect the owner’s home and follow their pet’s normal routine for feeding, medication, bathroom breaks, and playtime. If I notice anything unusual or have any concerns, I’ll contact the owner right away. I’m also happy to provide pictures and updates so owners can feel comfortable knowing their pet is safe and well cared for.
