Hi, I’m John, owner of Wise Wolf K9. Dogs have been a huge part of my life for many years, both professionally and personally. My approach focuses on structure, engagement, and creating a calm, balanced environment where dogs can feel secure and enjoy themselves. I share my home with Kano, my Akita, who is well-socialised and accustomed to having visiting dogs around him. Whether your dog is staying for boarding, daycare, walks, or training, they’ll be treated as part of the family and cared for as if they were my own. With a background in coaching and training, I understand that every dog is different. Some thrive on adventure and enrichment, while others simply need a calm, relaxed environment and consistent routine. My goal is always to provide a safe, enjoyable experience tailored to your dog’s individual needs. I am fully insured, DBS checked, and operate under the Wise Wolf K9 name, which reflects my commitment to building strong relationships between dogs and their owners through trust, consistency, and clear communication. John from Wise Wolf K9 was excellent in every way. Our dog Nellie takes a while to warm up to strangers, is reactive, and can be a little tricky to manage unless you are confident and caring with this type of dog. Before even meeting John asked lots of questions about Nellie and clearly knows what he is talking about when it comes to dogs and behaviour traits. At the meet and greet John had a confident but gentle way with her which put her guards down. During the stay John updated me regularly and within a day had Nellie running around chasing balls (like all good dogs should) and doing tricks. John was very responsive and communicative and I would 100% trust him with Nellie again.
Coco had a great time with John and his family. I am already thinking about my next booking with him!
John was great with Teddy, our Airedale terrier, who came to stay with him for a few days last week. Teddy had some issues with anxiety and keeping calm and quiet at night but John dealt with this really well and kept us informed about Teddy all the time that we were away. Teddy will likely be going back to John for some recall training too, at some point in the future. We would 100% recommend John to any dog owner looking for dog boarding in the Cambridge area.
John was fantastic looking after our two boys! He took great care of them, it was clear they were happy, relaxed, and well looked after. It gave us real peace of mind knowing they were in such good hands. We came home to two very content dogs, and we wouldn't hesitate to book John again. Highly recommend!😃
A short stay but Tim and Lily were very happy. John has a real empathy with dogs and deeply knowledgeable and caring. I will happily use John again.
John has looked after our two dogs, Haru and Yuki, and once again we couldn't be happier with the care they received 😊 He kept us updated every day with messages and lovely photos, which we really appreciated and gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. It's such a comfort knowing they're in safe, caring hands. Haru and Yuki always come home happy and relaxed, and it's clear they're treated with genuine love and attention. With my flexible schedule and commitment to ongoing education in dog behaviour, I make sure each pet gets the attention, care, and consistency they need every single day.

Whether caring for pets in my own home or yours, I focus on creating a calm, safe, and comfortable environment. I stick closely to each dog’s routine, provide plenty of enrichment, and always respect their individual needs and personalities—whether that means quiet cuddle time or active play.

A typical day
When I take care of your dog I will make sure they’ll enjoy plenty of fun and engaging activities! We’ll go on long walks, play fetch and tug-of-war, explore local parks, and enjoy lots of cuddle time. I also love keeping them mentally stimulated with treat puzzles and basic training games to keep their tails wagging and their minds active. Most importantly, they’ll get tons of love and attention every day!
