Safety, trust & environment
As an experienced petcare professional, I am attentive to the needs of the pet, and vigilant about their wellbeing. I have personal working knowledge of a wide range of products from training aids to safety gear to remedies, and nutrition. So, I know what is needed and when, and have immediate access to things that may be needed to help care for your pet. I am professionally trained to recognize dog health emergencies and take appropriate action. But most importantly my goal is always to try and make a pet content and relaxed. Your dog and I are going to be good friends. They just don’t know it yet
Information John M. would like to know about your pet
Please Note: for dogs over 30 pounds or over 7 years old, Meet and Greets are free of charge, and are required for first time appointments. This is for the wellbeing of both your pet and myself, so that anxiety in your pet is mitigated. Anxiety from suddenly being handled by someone they’ve never met can cause health problems, destructive behavior, and unpredictable behavior like aggressiveness towards people or other animals, loss of control of bodily function, etc. I prefer to know as much about a particular dogs health history, nutritional needs, and preferences, and temperament as possible in order to provide the healthiest experience possible. I have a wide range of experience including having to administer subcutaneous fluids to my own pet for genetic health issues such as Shar pei fever.
A typical day
I often take dogs to the multiple parks, lakes and nature center trails nearby to run, sniff, and play. A dog is typically walked more than a mile within a half hour if they are long leg dogs with high energy, but the amount of activity is adjusted based on the needs of the particular dog, including size, breed specific such as brachycephalic breeds, temperament, and medical history. Good behaviors are encouraged with positive reinforcement method throughout interaction. A variety of toys are available to suit the preferences and health needs of a particular dog (plush, rubber, wood, nylon, interactive/puzzle, flirt pole, etc.) Dogs are checked for signs of physical and mental well being. Pets, pats and belly scratches administered throughout

Pet care experience
I’ve been a professional in management in the Petcare industry for 14 years, but I started caring for my own pets at a young age. I have wide range of professional knowledge including pet health, behavior, nutrition, training and more! I have owned and worked with many breeds of dogs, including training. I enjoy using my experience to enrich a pets life as well as helping a pet parent and their pet create the most fulfilling bond, but the most important thing I’ve learned through my experiences is that your dog and I are good friends. They just don’t know it yet

Reviews

John is a reliable walker for our dog, always provides a comprehensive report and takes our dog on extra long walks if he has time!

Thank you John for giving such great attention to my three dogs. They trusted you right away and we look forward to many more walks.

John was simply fantastic. My pup warmed up to him immediately, he is gentle and clearly loves dogs. His communication was fabulous, the photos and updates he sent so welcomed, and he was on time for both days. We were immediately at ease with John and will rebook him without hesitation.

Thanks John! Maxx could not have found a better sitter!
