Hi! I’m John, and I’m excited to help care for your furry family members with patience, love, and reliability. Proud dad, devoted dog-and-cat man, and passionate high school English teacher at South Meck—supporting growth in the classroom and comfort at home, whether that’s with students or four-legged guests! I teach High School English and believe that kindness, consistency, and attentiveness matter just as much with pets as they do with people. I’ve been around dogs and cats my entire life and truly can’t imagine a home without them. Caring for animals has always been part of my daily routine, from playful pups to independent kitties and sweet senior pets who just want a calm, loving presence. I’m especially attentive to routines, instructions, and details—so your pet’s care is always handled exactly as requested. As part of a Rover team, I work alongside my wife, Katherine, to ensure your pet is never alone or unsupervised. Our home is calm, loving, and well-structured, with a fully fenced backyard and plenty of space for lounging, playtime, and one-on-one attention. Whether your pet enjoys outdoor time, cozy naps, or quiet companionship, they’ll feel safe and at ease with us. Our home includes a gentle senior Papillon and a 4-year-old daughter who has been raised around animals and is respectful, calm, and loving with them. All pets in our care must be dog-friendly to ensure a peaceful environment for everyone. Included services: drop-ins, doggy daycare, and in-home boarding for small breed dogs. Expect plenty of walks, affection, routine check-ins, and—yes—occasional bedtime stories. Please let us know about any special needs, medications, or routines so we can provide the best possible care. Boarding Breed Restrictions: For the safety and comfort of all pets in our care, we do not accept certain strong or high-energy breeds, including Pit Bulls, Dobermans, Boxers, Mastiffs, and similar large breeds. Safety, trust & environment
Pets are always looked after, played with, and fed with great care. At no point are pets ever left to fend for themselves, as I am always checking on them to make sure they have food and water, and are comfortable. If I am dropping in for a kitty visit, I will be sure that their litter box is clean, their toys are accessible, and that their food and water is full and within reach.

John has done a great job with Sophie, sometimes with senior dogs you have to have a little more patience and he has done that.
Thanks for this week John, shes done really well with you! I was getting a little nervous that she wasnt pooping but she did earlier this morning as well...good signs. She definitely is sandbagging on me when I"m home!

Absolutely wonderful experience from the very beginning. John and his wife are so lovely and my little fur baby immediately loved them. I was given constant updates and pictures, in addition to John being very accommodating with my schedule change. My fur baby and I are very appreciative of our experience and will be repeat clients.

He takes the time to understand each pet’s personality and needs, and he communicates clearly and thoughtfully with owners. Schedule
I am a teacher by day, but have lots of time during afternoons and evenings to take care of your furry friends. Weekends are set aside for time with your animals, taking time to play outside whenever the weather allows, or simply sitting together on the couch while I write or read a book.
