I am enrolled in online bootcamp in cybersecurity, so I am home most of the day outside of a brief errand or Rover walk. Even those I try to get done before a new dog stays with us to help make sure they are comfortable here. I am also available for walks and drop in services.

Safety, trust & environment

While your pup is here with us they will be consistently supervised wherever they and Parker are, playing indoors, on a walk, at a dog park, eating or napping. With very few exceptions I only accept two dogs at a time here so you don’t have to worry about your dog getting lost in the shuffle of a large group or being overwhelmed by multiple dogs. For boarding and daycare, I do not have any size or breed restrictions per se. We’ve hosted an 105 lb dog and two 8 lb brother and sister pups and everything in between. Is your dog “special needs?” We love those pups and they are totally welcome. I have experience caring for dogs with medical issues, anxiety, odd behaviors, phobias, etc. So please get in touch and feel free to be candid without fear of rejection or judgement. Knowing what to expect before they arrive will make it easier to keep them happy and safe! One restriction I do have is that if your dog is aggressive towards other dogs (if it’s only leash aggression that’s generally ok!!) or has a history of fighting with other dogs, I can’t accept them for the safety of my own pup and others who stay here. My experience in doing this for a while is that they would definitely do best with a Rover sitter who currently does not have another animal in their home. For walks and drop ins I am willing to work with virtually any dog breed size and temperament provided it can be done safely. 🐶ANY FIRST TIME CLIENTS BOOKING A BOARDING STAY OF 2 NIGHTS OR MORE HAVE THE OPTION IF BOOKING A DAY CARE STAY FOR JUST $25 A WARMUP TO THE BOARDING STAY! THIS IS A GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR DOGS WITH SEPARATION ANXIETY OR PUPPIES BOARDING FOR THE FIRST TIME TO DIP THEIR PAWS IN THE POOL BEFORE THE BIG STAY! Please inquire for more details.

Information John D. would like to know about your pet

Any info you think is important for me to know, please feel free to share and I will make any accommodations that I can for your pup to have a safe and happy visit on a walk or visit to Parker’s Play and Stay. I endeavor to try and support any work you are doing at home to change undesired behaviors, reinforce positive behaviors and if anything we do our best not create new undesirable behaviors.

A typical day

Parker loves loves to play with floppy animal toys indoors and run around the dog park If your dog likes to play then he or she will fit right in. Even if your dog is shy or lower energy we will adjust to their preference, we have had many like that come to stay with us and we will meet them where they are at. On many occasions we have had pups stay with us who “don’t play” but Parker and I get them to try it out and we surprise the pup parents with videos of them having playtime fun! We have two small dog runs in our building complex and we have a few great parks here in NoLibs with lots of curious and exciting sniffable spots. We have dog beds and dog bowls for our guests and a giant crate that we leave the door open…for any time a dog decides they want to go in for some private down time.

Reliable experienced dog dad

Pet care experience

Parker became my first dog adoption 7 years ago which coincides almost exactly with when I became a certified dog geek. To this day I research everything I can find out about dog health, dog behavior, dog training and dog social dynamics. This prepared me well once I began caring for dogs through Rover. What I have learned through readings no watching and personal experience helps me provide a safe and comfortable visit while helping or woofy guests have an enjoyable time with us.

Always reliable & great with my dog. Couldn't be happier with John — each and every time. Takes that little bit of stress that hangs on when you travel and puts it at ease. 10/10

John took great care of our puppy Winnie when we had to go to Europe for a wedding! This was her first time away from us so we were very nervous but she seemed happy and well taken care of. He also was super flexible when our plane got delayed until late at night which we really appreciated. Thanks, John!

John and funny little Parker were life savers this week with my goofy boy 🐾Shadow. I had work visits for 3 days which were early drop off and late pick up and John worked with me and timing. He took pictures playing, cuddling and I felt Shadow was safe. Thank you John and Parker 🙏🏻🐶💕
