I'm currently between roles and conducting an active job search, which means I have a flexible daily schedule with plenty of time for walks, drop-ins, and companionship. I'm generally available throughout the day on weekdays and weekends alike, so scheduling around your pet's routine — rather than mine — is easy. As my situation changes I'll keep my availability updated, but for now I have significant time to devote to your dog's care.

About John C.
Safety, trust & environment
I live in an apartment with my partner and our 11-year-old Scottish Terrier, Frasier, who is friendly and well socialized with other dogs. There's no private yard, so walks and bathroom breaks happen on leash in the neighborhood, and I'm attentive to leash manners and safe street awareness at all times. I can crate a dog if needed, though I'm equally comfortable with supervised free time in the apartment. Your dog will always have a calm, clean, secure space and full attention while in my care.

Information John C. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know ahead of time about any medical needs, medications, or physical limitations your dog has, along with their temperament around other dogs and strangers, since I'll often be walking near Victoria Park where we're likely to cross paths with other pets and people. I'd also appreciate knowing your dog's leash manners, any reactivity or anxiety triggers, and whether they're food or toy motivated, so I can plan activities they'll genuinely enjoy. For dogs with high energy or specific exercise needs, tell me what a good day looks like for them. The more detail you give me upfront, the better I can tailor my visits to your dog's actual routine and comfort level.
A typical day
Our apartment sits right beside Victoria Park, so a typical walk means plenty of trees, open grass, and birds to sniff out — great for both quick relief breaks and longer, more exploratory walks. With your permission, I'm also happy to make the short drive to Point Pleasant Park for dogs who want more distance, more scenery, and a proper adventure. I pay attention to each dog's energy level and adjust the pace and length of the walk accordingly, so whether your pup wants a leisurely stroll or a good long outing, I'll match it. As treats, I like to offer fresh fruit and vegetables like apple, cucumber, and tomato — always with your permission and mindful of any allergies or dietary restrictions your dog has.

Pet care experience
I've shared my home with Scottish Terriers continuously since 2005, often two or three at once, which gave me a deep grounding in a notoriously stubborn, independent breed — but I'm happy to walk or sit any dog over 14 lbs. My current companion Frasier is 11, so I'm well versed in senior dog care, including recognizing changes in mobility, appetite, and energy that come with age. Years of managing multiple strong-willed terriers at once has made me patient, consistent, and quick to read a dog's mood, whatever the breed. I treat every companion in my care the way I treat my own.
