Pet care experience
Peace of mind for you and your pups
I have always loved dogs. As an adult I've had two Labradors that I raised on my own since they were 8 weeks old. They have since passed, and both lived until 11-13 yrs old. I loved spending as much of my time with them. I try to spend as much time outside, going for walks or drives and checking out the sights and smells, throwing a ball around, etc. One of my dogs had to have knee surgery (TPLO) on both knees, so I do have lots of experience with nursing a dog's health and their rehab.

Ratings and reviews
I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter for my dog than John! He was incredibly attentive, caring, and thoughtful throughout the entire stay, and he genuinely gave me peace of mind while I was away. He kept me updated regularly, which meant so much to me, and I could tell that my dog was not only being properly cared for, but absolutely spoiled and loved. What really stood out to me was that his care started even before the actual babysitting. He made a real effort to get to know my dog, spend time with him, and build a relationship with him beforehand. That made me feel so much more comfortable knowing they already had a connection. He was extremely thorough, responsible, and attentive to all the little details. You can truly tell how much he loves what he does and, more importantly, how much he genuinely loves and cares for the animals he looks after. I came home knowing my dog had been happy, well cared for, and treated like family. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone looking for someone they can completely trust with their pet. We will definitely be booking with him again! ❤️🐾

It is my pleasure to write this review for John and I cannot recommend him enough! From the first time we met his love and compassion for dogs was completely obvious. Leaving Piper has been stressful in the past but right away we were left at ease and could see how comfortable and at home she felt. John kept us up to date with pictures and videos of her living her best life; enjoying walks, playtime, cuddles and even special outings. John is excellent at communicating; keeping me informed of her day's routines and even checking in with any unusual behaviours or concerns. ie Piper can be anxious and once he sent me a text with picture of physical changes since previous visit. John is the perfect sitter for Piper, she is always treated as part of the family; with extra love and affection from her favourite "grandma". When we pick Piper up she is happy and it is obvious she is well loved and has received the best of care. I cannot imagine leaving her with anyone else.
John is a wonderful pet owner. He treats his own pups like family. John has a big back well kept yard for furry friends to run around in. He is responsible, dependable and a true animal lover. You couldn’t ask for a better person to care for your animals!!

Schedule
I work from home 5 days/wk with a job that's flexible enough to be able to take breaks from my desk and let the dogs out regularly, and go for lunch-time walks (weather permitting!) Your dog can have free roam of the house and yard with regular check-ins. Even though I work from home, it would be ideal to have more than a couple of days notice prior to your desired booking dates. I like to arrange 'Meet & Greets' with the dogs and their parents to ensure that it is a "good fit" before accepting a booking. Please and thanks!

Home characteristics
Safety, trust & environment
I have a large, fenced backyard. Plenty of room for your pup to stretch, sniff around, play some fetch and blow off some energy. Various walking routes nearby, as well.
A typical day
I believe in stimulating the dog's body and mind. There's plenty of walking routes in my area, along with parks and man-made lakes where your dog can check out the sights and smells. Or we can go for a drive to a nice walking trail, followed by a pup-cone (if that's permitted by the parents!) I also enjoy taking dogs to all the pet-friendly businesses in the city. You'd be surprised how many places allow pets! I have lots of dog toys, and there's nothing I enjoyed more than throwing a ball or frisbee for my dogs - so I hope yours will like to play too!

- It's super helpful when pet parents have a COMPLETE profile on their pets before reaching out. It amazes me the amount of inquiries I receive from parents that have blank profiles. Some information is better than no information. The details you provide is valuable to help me make an informed decision before considering meeting your pet. The well-being of your pet is very important to me, and I would like to ensure that your pet feels healthy, safe and comfortable. Things I would want to know from you: Are there any behaviour concerns I should know about? Does your dog have any anxiety? If so, what are their triggers? Food/medicine allergies? Any health concerns? How are they with other dogs? (there's dogs in my neighbourhood that we may pass by) How are they with other people?
