Your Pet’s Home Away From Home!

Your Pet's Home Away From Home! A Peaceful Home Where Your Pet Is Our Only Guest. If you view your pet as a member of your family, you’ve come to the right place—because I do, too. When you leave your pet in my care, you can expect consistent communication, plenty of photos, and regular updates so you can have peace of mind while you're away. My experience covers a wide spectrum of care, from puppies and kittens to seniors with specific needs. Growing up in the country, I was surrounded by animals, and that passion only grew as I worked at horse stables and completed a year of Veterinary Technology studies. Whether it’s a tiny Chihuahua, a giant Leonberger, or a flock of chickens, I’ve likely handled a personality like theirs before. Currently, I love the balance of being an all-around caregiver. My flexible schedule allows me to dedicate myself to pet care while also subbing at local Montessori preschool, and providing care to young children. Questions or special requests? Don't be shy—send me a message! I look forward to meeting you and your furry family members. — Johanna

Johanna is always the best. I checked in so much with our elderly furry girl Carly and Johanna was so good at letting me know how she was doing. Carly loves staying there and we love having Johanna and her family take care of Csrly when we are gone.

Johanna did a great job communicating and updating us on Theo. The pics she sent showed a happy dog:) Theo came home tired which was great as he is high energy. Would recommend and will use Johanna for future dog watching.

Johanna was incredibly accommodating with our last-minute overnight stay request. She took the time to meet with us beforehand and really reassured us since this was our first time leaving our puppy. Her home is calm and welcoming, and she was attentive to all the little details of his puppy needs. Communication was clear and consistent throughout. We’d absolutely use her again!

Schedule

Pet's can expect several hours of morning routine care, typically with a meal, a walk, and general engagement. I then try to make my plans, appointments during typical "work day" hours when most pets are accustomed to owners being busy or away, and then back in the afternoon onward for an evening meal, walk and time together around the house, or the yard. Please keep in mind this is a very general schedule and can be adjusted based on individual pet's needs. While I am a full-time sitter—providing up to 8 hours of care per day, plus nights—I do step out for the usual errands, appointments, or other obligations. To ensure the best experience for everyone, my home is a perfect fit for pets who are comfortable relaxing on their own for at least a few hours at a time. This balance allows me to stay flexible and attentive to every guest's specific needs.

Safety, trust & environment

We have a fenced-in backyard and are lucky to live near parks, fields, and the Mississippi River for daily walks. To ensure a calm and focused environment, I do not host more than one client at a time. Your pet will receive individualized attention and treats (if allowed!). Because my husband works from home and our daughter (15) is a local student, there is almost always a friendly face around. Your pet becomes part of our daily lives—whether we’re in the garden, baking, out for a walk, or curled up on the couch. I have space for a kennel and dog bed on the main level and am able to sleep near them if they need a nearby presence at night. Note: We have one rabbit who stays safely gated away in a closed-off bedroom on our second level.

A typical day

Daily walks and indoor/outdoor play are key components of my care routine, ensuring your pet gets the exercise and mental stimulation they need. Whether it’s exploring new neighborhood trails or enjoying quiet, one-on-one enrichment at home, your pet will receive my undivided attention.
