I’ve been caring for dogs for over a decade in the handful of places I’ve called home (including abroad). I’ve walked and cared for dogs as both part time and full time work, and I hope to continue doing it as a new NYC resident :) I’m currently a grad student at Teachers College, Columbia. My schedule is quite flexible allowing me to hopefully be a good fit for you and your pup. My recent experience ranges from regularly walking an eight week old puppy to sitting a 15 year old dog for a week-plus. I have my own dog who has two chronic illnesses, so I have ample experience with administering medications, as well as familiarity with how to care for dogs of all ages. Safety, trust & environment
In most cases I’m able to be with the dogs I’m watching at all times. If there’s ever a rare exception to this, I live with my partner who works from home and is able to step in. I will take dogs out for multiple walks each day, usually every 2-3 hours unless otherwise needed.

Johanna did an excellent job taking care of my senior dog GiGi! She is very responsible and reliable. Johanna is lovely. Another Rover house sitter, whom I had booked months in advance of my prepaid resort vacation, was unable to fulfill her obligation- just one week prior to my departure. Johanna was a lifesaver! She immediately accepted the house sitting job. GiGi is very particular about her daily schedule and Johanna had no problem following all the detailed instructions. I came home to a very happy pooch and a house in perfect order- just as I’d left it. I’m about to book her for another upcoming trip. I know I’ll have peace of mind leaving my dog and house in her care. I highly recommend Johanna!
Johanna was great walking my senior dog GiGi. It was a snowy and muddy day. Johanna was on board with keeping my dog from getting muddy on the walk. She was very patient with GiGi’s slow, senior pace. Gigi enjoyed her walk very much! I highly recommend Johanna for your dog walking needs.

Schedule
I’m currently a grad student and planning to dog walk/sit as my primary job during school, so I am quite flexible. With one exception, my classes are in the evening so I am available most anytime during the day.

- It’s always helpful to know how friendly a dog is. Some will want a best friend and others will want to do their own thing — either is fine by me, but it’s nice to know beforehand. I will take your dog out for a few walks while watching them for the day. It’s great to know about any particular exercise needs or limitations.
