I work regular daytime hours downtown in DC, so for pets that are accustomed to their humans working from the office, I can keep their routine consistent. This includes meal and medication timing, timing and frequency of potty breaks, longer walks for dogs who need extra exercise, and helping to maintain house training in progress.

Pets are allowed on furniture in my home, but I'm also happy to crate dogs if you prefer and enforce any no-furniture rules you may have at home and want to keep consistent. I live in a spacious 1-bedroom apartment close to Rock Creek Park, great for longer walks. The neighborhood between my building and Rock Creek Park is quiet with not much traffic.

Words can't express how much I've loved being a pet parent and loved caring for others' pets. I've had the joy of raising my 18-year-old cat from kittenhood; raising my bulldog, who I miss dearly, from puppyhood; and taking in our alley cat to give her a safe and warm last 2 years of life. I grew up with pets (cats, dogs, and birds) in the home, and in addition to my own, I've enjoyed years of professional experience caring for others' pets. I was a professional boarder in 2008, a professional dog walker and pet sitter from 2014 to 2017, and managed a local dog walking and pet sitting company from 2015 to 2017. I'm not a certified dog trainer, but working alongside trainers has given me some skills that help pets have a positive experience away from their people.

Johanna is great with our 2 frenchies. She leaves our home cleaner than when she arrived! And the pups are so well taken care of & happy.
Taco loved his time with Johanna. She sent plenty of pictures and progress during his stay and listened to my guidance on his issues as an older dog. Will definitely be booking with her again.
I had a number of personal complications with my being out of town, and at every turn Johanna was ready to work with me. She replied promptly, and always figured out a way to make it work. it was easy to tell she cared about the fur buddies and families, and I know if I ever need help in the NW DC/MD area, I will find Johanna.
Johanna was great with my two cats! It was my first time leaving them since they were adopted, so I was very nervous, but she provided lots of updates on how they were behaving. She even got some very cute pictures of my wiggly void cat who never sits still, and his shyer brother.
