When visiting pets in their own home, I always aim to maintain their usual routines to help them feel comfortable and secure. During drop-in visits, I’ll make sure they’re fed, have fresh water, get potty breaks, and enjoy playtime or gentle cuddles—whatever they’re used to. For dog walks, I’ll follow their preferred pace and walking route if noted, and always prioritize their safety and well-being. I pay close attention to their mood and body language and avoid overstimulating environments if they seem nervous or shy. I’m also comfortable being recorded on pet cams during visits, as long as I receive prior notice from the pet parent. Additionally, I keep pet parents updated with photos and messages after each visit so you know how your pet is doing and can feel at ease while you’re away.

It’s also helpful to know where you keep essentials like food, leashes, or litter. The more I know, the better I can make your pet feel safe, comfortable, and loved in your absence.
A typical day
For dogs, I love going on relaxing walks at their pace—whether it’s a quick potty break or a longer stroll to burn off energy. If they enjoy playtime, we’ll toss a ball, play tug-of-war, or explore their favorite sniff spots! For cats and small animals, I keep things calm and enriching. I’ll gently engage them with toys, offer brushing (if they like it), and make sure they feel safe and comfortable. I’m always happy to chat with them and give lots of head scratches or quiet company—whatever they enjoy most! Every pet is different, so I take the time to learn what makes your pet happy and adjust accordingly.
