Availability
Currently I run an online business from home with a flexible schedule, so I have plenty of time to play with your dog, train, and give potty breaks. Hoping to make dog care and training my fulltime career. I take my dog on a walk 5 to 6 days a week; happy to bring your dog along. I aim for one big adventure a week (usually hiking or swimming at Willard bay), though that's weather and dog dependent.

Safety, trust & environment
We spend a lot of time outside, especially in the mornings. I encourage dogs to be active and playful. Even when not doing a board and train experience, I generally pick an obedience emphasis for the day (sit, down, recall, etc.) and will work with the dogs in a group setting on that daily goal. Often that involves putting them on leash one at a time and running them through the agility course or other drills in a high distraction environment while the other dogs play. Inside I encourage calm play and dog bed training. Dogs are allowed on couch and bed when they earn it or are invited, unless owner prefers otherwise (in which case my dog will not be permitted either). I strongly prefer and recommend dogs sleep in kennel, but open to other arrangements in some situations.

Information Joel S. would like to know about your pet
I need to know about any history of aggression toward other dogs, people, and especially children. I need to know of any health concerns. I need to know if your dog has any food allergies or restrictions. I can't watch intact female dogs as my lab is an intact male.
A typical day
My house is between glassman park and a wildlife pond so most walks usually aim toward one of those directions. I love playing and training fetch. I enjoy doing training sessions to reinforce obedience and tricks while improving my own abilities.

🐶 Dog lover 💙 and behaviorist
Pet care experience
I have a degree in psychology with an emphasis in animal behavior. I have raised labradors, a German shepherd, and a border collie. Currently I own a healthy yellow lab who is an excellent playmate and mentor dog. In addition to daycare and boarding, I offer private training sessions and a board & train experience where, for an addition fee, we set specific training goals commensurate with the length of stay. If goals are not met prices are returned to standard boarding rates. I believe in balanced training and allow results to speak for themselves. I have a large fenced yard with a deck and side section which is partitioned off from the main yard by a second fence for dog introductions and occasionally training. Other side yard contains basic dog agility course. I fill a small above ground pool on hot summer days. I currently have an intact male labrador who is a super play pal and mentor dog. My dog is not my child, baby, or furbaby, he is my dog and training partner. I fulfill all his needs as a dog and he's awesome because of it. I have two young kids which both love and play well with dogs, always supervised. Both kids are out of the house during the day mon-fri.

Joel was very thorough in giving us feedback about training our dog better. He was flexible when our flight was canceled and took care of our dog without any problems.

My girl is happy, safe and comes home pooped

She is happy and safe and developing positive skills
