I was a solo traveler living the vanlife but am back home helping my folks in Maryland. I love dogs but owning one would radically change my lifestyle. I’m hoping that through Rover I can still have some dog time on the road and take some good boys and girls for adventures outdoors.

Primarily I like to do drop-in visit for walks and short training sessions. Once we build a rapport, I’d like to do hikes and overnight adventures.

I prefer dogs that are active and have at least some foundation of training. I do best with working dog breeds that need a stimulating outlet. I am generally able to accommodate special needs pets, I just need to know what those needs are ahead of time.

A typical day will (depending on the pet) include walks, fetch, fun training sessions using positive reinforcement only, belly rubs and lots of care and attention.

Raised a well trained border collie in high school and recently fostered a puppy that became a service dog through Dogs For Better Lives. We trained it for 14 months to prepare for service training. Typically the professional training takes 4-6 months but our boy graduated in 2.5. I love short, fun training sessions and consistency.

Joel was a great sitter for our pups! Even with bad weather, he made sure they got their outdoor time/ walks and play time!
Joel is awesome! He took care of my dog and cat while I was out of town. He went above and beyond taking care of the animals and my apartment. When I got back my pets were absolutely in love with him. He’s so wonderful, I’d absolutely recommend you book him!!
Joel loves animals and is very caring and attentive. He has taken great care with my dog, Neville. I feel confident when he is with my boy!
