I'm located just off the parkway near Churchill, Monroeville, Penn Hills, and the East End -- easy access from Pittsburgh neighborhoods and the East suburbs. Flexible check-in times 7 days a week. My name is Joe, I'm 43, and I'm dedicated full time to dog care. I'm fully licensed by the state of PA, with a verified inspection twice a year by the Pennsylvania State Dog Warden. I was a research assistant at CMU for 14 years, but our project ended in 2014. I started doing independent dog care as a part time job and it's grown into a full time business. I stay home most of the time to take care of the dogs and give them attention throughout the day. Since joining Rover, I've hosted many different dogs of all ages and sizes, and I'm one of the highest rated sitters available. I truly feel like I provide the best pet care available around Pittsburgh, and I think my clients would agree! I have a large fenced in backyard with secure gates and fences in a great neighborhood. It has other yards on either side and is fully enclosed. There's plenty of space, trees, grass, patio etc! I have experience administering medication and handling dogs with special needs. I've hosted timid dogs that require socializing. They always come back for more! I have younger, active dogs and senior dogs as well. Many of my canine clients are regulars and have been coming for years. The dogs all get to know one another and have a great time having their own little vacations together. I can manage small and large dogs together, and help with socializing and separation anxiety. During the week I go out to walk dogs around the area between 11:30 - 1:30. Otherwise I'm home throughout the day and evening. Drop off and pick ups are generally scheduled before 11 and after 2.

Our Shih Tzu seemed to enjoy her overnight stay with Joe. She came home quite happy and relaxed. Joe seems very kind and loving with the dogs.
Joe was able to get my dogs in last minute for daycare and was very accommodating and friendly. I appreciated him checking in with pictures throughout the day and I could tell my pups were well cared for and had a great time!
Our dogs came back healthy and happy! We would happily work with Joe again! One of my major gripes with boarding facilities is how smelly the dogs and their beds are when they come back but after over a week with Joe our dogs had no such issue. They also tend to come back from boarding just totally wiped out but I would say this time they came back much closer to their normal state. I think Joe created an environment closer to what we have at home so it wasn’t much of an adjustment for them. All in all it was a good experience for us and our three large dogs.
Joe provided consistent communication and exceptional care for Jazz! We will be back.

Schedule
I'm fully dedicated to pet care all day. I aim to keep your dogs regular routine. We are up early, plenty of play time, and whatever your dog needs.

I have a large fenced-in yard for exercise. The dogs can be crated if that's what they do at home, or just in a gated area when left alone. Older dogs or special needs can have a separate space if necessary. I spend most of the time around the dogs, and they can sleep nearby. I have dog beds and blankets, and you can always bring your own if they prefer!
A typical day
We have a great yard for playing and usually 2 -4 doggie clients around to play with. Younger dogs can chase each other up and down the hill and older dogs can lounge in the sun. We start every day with extensive play time in he yard. This helps get out some energy and lets the dogs bond with each other. I make our typical day as close to your dog's home routine as possible. I can spend several hours throughout the day giving your dog attention. In addition to keeping your dog company throughout the day I will spend an hour or more of focused play time as well as honor any specific walking or playing requests that you might have..
