Pet care experience

Veteran and Animal Enthusiast

My name is Joe, and I’ve cared for animals my entire life. From caring for dogs in my childhood years, to owning and operating my own farm: I’ve done it all. When your little furry family member is with me, you’ll never have to worry about their care. They’ll have fun, get scritches, and be loved as if they were my own. I’m comfortable with house sitting, drop ins, and dog walking. The size of your animal doesn’t matter, and I can administer pretty much any medication needed. With over 15 years of active animal care experience... including goats, ducks, and sheep, I can do it all. A little about me: I’m 36, a USMC veteran, a CU Boulder alumnus, and a craft beer lover. My wife and I have three rescue dogs of our own: a pair of Australian Shepherds and an absolute doofus of a Pit/Lab/Who Even Knows.

My quirky, complicated, stranger danger doggo fell in love with Joe very quickly! He knows animals (of all kinds) and complicated doggos very well, and he really connected with mine. Apart from being just amazing with our Girl, keeping her well exercised and etc, he's reliable, checks in, and left our place clean and better than we left it. We are so thankful we connected with Joe, he's a true gem.

Joe is great. He takes care of Sahara, and she's a shy little Canaan Dog. He is an incredibly responsible former US Marine and will care for your pets and property extremely well.

We were away for a long weekend and Joe took great care of our house and our dogs. The house was in great shape when we came back and the puppies looked happy. He sent multiple pictures and kept us in the loop, keeping the communication open. This was the second time we used Joe, and we hope to use him again in the future!

Joe was fantastic! We have two dogs and one of them is older and required a bit of extra care. Joe took great care of our dogs and our house. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a sitter.

Joe and his wife were excellent sitters for our mini Aussie. They sent us photos frequently, left our house spotless, and even took out our garbages for us while we were gone. We could tell our pup was well cared for and will definitely be using them again in the future!

Calendar and availability

Schedule

I'm currently freelancing, and will have plenty of time to spend with your pups! I can very easily make my schedule fit your animals' needs.

Where your pet will stay

Safety, trust & environment

I'm the proud pet parent of a small gaggle of rescue pups, and am very familiar with handling the unique needs that each one has. From handling a reactive Aussie with a Napoleon complex to an oblivious pit/lab mix, I do it every day, and will bring that same patience and understanding to your family.

Pets

A typical day

I'm not much of a runner, but can stroll with the best of them. I love taking dogs around the neighborhood to check up on all of their favorite sniffing spots, playing fetch or tug, or just hanging out on the couch with a book and hours of ear scritches.

I love hearing all about each animal's individual quirks and needs. I appreciate getting a heads up about any potential trouble spots or things that might upset your animal, like storms, that one broom that fell over once and surprised them 2 years ago, or that squirrel that keeps coming by just to bother them. I also appreciate a heads up about any problem behaviors to be especially vigilant about, and how you prefer handling them. Specific words/commands you use for daily tasks are also very helpful to me.
