I have experience caring for small dogs including senior dogs and understand their unique needs. I provide attentive, loving care which includes feeding separately, potty breaks in my fenced in backyard, playtime both inside and outside, rest time on laps, blankets, dog beds, and furniture, and tons of reassurance with limitless affection. I'm patient, reliable, and focused on safety, comfort, routine, and making sure each dog in my care feels secure and loved while you are away.

My dog developed separation anxiety during the upheaval of a recent move and I was afraid that a new caregiver would exacerbate her stress. Instead, Jody skillfully and painstakingly provided exactly what Bourbon needed, becoming a surrogate source of comfort. Bourbon trusted Jody so much after one day together that she chose to sit in Jody's lap most of the their second day together. I am deeply appreciative to Jody and no longer feel guilty for choosing to arrange short-term daycare for my distressed little friend.

Schedule
My main source of income is caring for dogs, so I am home full-time except for an occasional errand or appointment. My husband and I share one car so three days a week so I drive him to and from work, which takes me away from home 45 minutes twice on those three days, however depending on when you need me it may not interfere. I am able to provide frequent potty breaks in my fenced in backyard. I keep the dogs separate if I am away from home for any amount of time.

I have a fenced in backyard with plenty of space for dogs to run, sniff, and play. My backyard is fully fenced and I never leave dogs outside unattended. I use gates inside my smoke-free home if your pet needs to take a break from other dogs. Feedings take place in your pets own space. My home is always locked even when I’m at home.

A typical day
If you are new to my daycare, I make sure your dog is only greeted by me when they first arrive. Next, I immediately take them outside to my backyard so they can sniff around and become familiar with other dog scents. Once you leave, I will allow the other dogs outside to meet your dog. Once the dogs have settled we head back inside for playtime if it's winter. If it's warm outside, we most likely will stay outside for playtime. I have tons of toys and balls both inside and outside. I find the dogs typically take an afternoon nap. I have several bowls of fresh water available. After they nap, its back to play time. My goal is to provide socialization and lots of activity for your dog, but if your dog prefers a quieter space that can be arranged. My hope is they go home happy and tired.
