Life is better with animals. 🐾🪶🐠
Since I was a child, people would bring strays or unbalanced animals to our house who would suddenly be calm and comfortable in my care. I spent a lot of time in nature and wild animals would often follow me home. I now have my Masters of Science in Applied Behavior Analysis and wrote an original thesis on clicker training for service dogs. I am on the Board and a trainer for Hero Puppies for Life where we train service dogs for heroes with PTSD. We use positive reinforcement and are focused around relational bond training. This sets the dogs up for success to support their humans. We also teach their humans how to understand their dog's instincts and communication. I am quite passionate about it. :) Leo is my 7 year old black lab and personal service dog so your fur family will have free socialization and canine therapy in addition to my human care. He has worked with me extensively as a focal point in my approach to providing applied behavior analysis therapy to children and dogs. From the time I was in college, I always loved pet and house sitting. Opportunities for a change of scenery, in a fresh space, and caring for fur friends is always a treat. The care completely depends on the needs of the animals and home. I have administered meds, cared for young and old pets, implemented training, embraced snuggles, and fulfilled food orders that make meals look like a sundae.

My biggest apprehension in leaving anyone with my babies was throughly solved by having met and had Jodie stay with them. Jodie communicated regularly and provided updates on how they were doing in her care. I felt at ease which is a testament to her being able to make me so. Thank you Jodie!!
Jodie was great with our 14-year old lab. He has mobility issues due to arthritis in his hips and had stomach issues during our trip. Jodie was compassionate and worked with us to ensure he was properly cared for throughout her visit.
Jodie is incredibly empathic with dogs and she never ceases to amaze me with her ability to connect with ANY animal. I have left my dog on her care many times and, by the time I came back, he didn’t even care I was around. She is an amazing find for caring for any fur baby!
Jodie is a life long friend and is the first person I would go to for any advice on my dog. She is compassionate, loving, and affectionate towards any animal. She has helped me train my dog Hank as a puppy and it has made him a better dog. She is timely, reliable, and will treat your pet like her own. She is great at understanding your pet's needs and will always ask you detailed questions on what your pet likes and doesn't like. She is great at communication and will put your mind at ease. I couldn't think of anyone else I would recommend more for this job! You will be lucky to have her!

I am currently a full time student in an online, fully remote, tech program so I am very flexible when it comes to location, time of day, and duration for care.
