Jo's Fur Babies Retreat

Your cuties will be joining other furry vacationers who are excited to make new fur-iends, play, and enjoy their stay together. ** A loving home-away-from-home where pets can play, relax, and feel like part of the family. With a lifetime of experience caring for dogs, cats, birds, ferrets, horses, fish, and more, I truly love creating a safe, happy space where pets feel comfortable, loved, and well cared for. At Jo’s Fur Babies Retreat, I’ve had the joy of welcoming many new and returning fur babies, building trusted relationships with both pets and their families. Because I am home throughout the day, your fur baby will receive plenty of love, attention, and supervision. Their stay can include indoor play, backyard fun in my large fully fenced yard, quiet rest time, snuggles, or simply lounging on the deck. I always do my best to follow each pet’s usual routine so they feel settled, safe, and at home. This gives your fur baby a chance to explore, while we chat about their routine, personality, fears, special needs, and anything else that helps me care for them with confidence. My experience also includes helping care for a family “zoo” just outside Sherwood Park, where I assisted with a variety of animals and experienced firsthand the joy animals bring to people every day. I look forward to welcoming your fur baby to their very own vacation retreat, where they can feel safe, loved, and maybe even make a few furrever friends.

This was the longest we have had to board Fergus, and he loved every minute of his stay with Jodeen and all his fur buddies! The daily updates and pictures/videos were great - he was happy and playful, and Fergus clearly had a great time and was well looked after by Jo. We were very lucky to have Jodeen as a sitter and would highly recommend using Jo's services to anyone who is anxious about leaving their pet while they are away.
My boy Leif had a great time with Jodeen. He can be sensitive, but Jodeen's kindness and genuine love of dogs put him at ease almost instantly. We will definitely be going back for more dog sitting in the future. So glad to have met you Jodeen!
We had such a great experience with Jodeen! She was very welcoming, had a wonderful yard for Zoey to enjoy, and always responded quickly. Zoey is a very high-energy dog, so I know she’s had a great time when she comes home tired—and she definitely did! That tells me she received plenty of exercise, attention, and playtime. I would absolutely recommend Jodeen
I'm so thankful to have found Jodeen. From the start she made the doggy daycare process so easy. Great communication, straight forward setup. When I'm at the office I'm so glad Dolly, my dog, had somewhere wonderful to hang out with her doggy pals.
Our dog Roxy had such a wonderful time while we were on vacation! It was our first time boarding her and Jodeen was absolutely wonderful, provided regular updates, pictures, and videos that put us completely at ease. We were pretty nervous leaving our girl but Jodeen's prompt communication and updates made us feel very comfortable and assured that Roxy was having a wonderful time and let us relax. We'll definitely be using Jodeen in the future!
It was our first time leaving Joni with Jodeen and we will without a doubt use her again. Highly recommend her for your fur babies. She sent photo and video updates quite quickly and often which helped ease any worry, beautiful big yard to play and run with other friends. Looking forward to our next adventure and Joni’s little holiday too. 😊

Pet care is my full-time focus — your fur baby will spend the day with me, receiving attention, playtime, games, ball, and social interaction with their new fur friends. I structure each day around their needs, balancing activity, rest, and companionship to create a fun, safe, and enriching environment. Because I am home all day, I can respond to each pet’s unique personality, energy level, and schedule, ensuring they feel happy, cared for, and part of a loving routine.

Pets enjoy a large, fully fenced backyard — like a private pet pawty — with plenty of space to play, explore, relax, and have fun safely. I closely supervise all pets, and a backyard separation gate is used as needed to keep everyone comfortable. Playtime, cuddles, and attention are tailored to each pet’s personality and needs, indoors and outdoors, for a safe, fun, and enriching experience.
A typical day
Playtime is a highlight of every day! Pets enjoy lots of ball games, supervised backyard fun, and engaging indoor activities like hide-and-seek with treats, which provide great mental stimulation. I tailor activities to each pet’s preferences and energy level, ensuring they stay happy, active, and entertained — whether inside on a cold day or in the spacious backyard when the weather allows.
