Pet care experience

Your pets new best furrrr-iend! 🐶

Hi, I’m Jocelyn! Based in McGinley Square, Jersey City, I offer flexible pet care with experience handling all kinds of personalities, from bouncy pups to chill cats. My own toy poodle, Honey, is friendly but prefers her personal space, and my two cats are wonderfully independent. I’ve cared for pets big and small, energetic or easygoing, and always incredibly lovable. I graduated in December 2025 and I’m gearing up for grad school, but right now I work part-time as a remote research assistant (WFH)! My only in-person commitment is a ~8-hour-a-week internship, split across two 4-hour days that I get to schedule myself, so I can build my week around your pet’s needs instead of the other way around. Fair warning: I talk to myself while I study, so your pet gets front-row seats to some very enthusiastic mini-lectures on neural pathways. Every animal I’ve sat for so far has been a very captive (and very patient) audience. 🧠🐾 Whether your pet wants nonstop cuddles, quiet company, or a walking buddy with treats always on hand, I’ll make sure they feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. 🐶🐱💕

Jocelyn was amazing with our pups during a very hard time for us. She took amazing care of them and they were so obviously comfortable with her as shown by the many pics and videos she sent. We will definitely be using her again. And she left our home in perfect condition :)

We’ve been on Rover for the last 6 years, and have had 10+ care takers care for Luna over that time. Out of all those experiences, Jocelyn stands out miles above!! She was more than a dog sitter for Luna, and loved and cared for her like her own pet! She gave her all her time — taking her for multiple long walks, playing with her, cuddling with her. We know all this because she sent us multiple video updates while doing this! We would hire Jocelyn any time to care for Luna, and be worry-free through our travels! Sooo happy to have found Jocelyn!

Jocelyn is the best! My cats loved her and while one is easy to please the other is very picky and gets nervous so easily. She was patient with them and they seemed really happy. She’s a great communicator and sent the sweetest videos. I will absolutely book with her again and would recommend her to anyone!

Jocelyn was great with our little Italian greyhound Lily. She met with us before hand the stay and even picked up and dropped off Lily. She was easy to communicate with, caring and sent regular updates with photos and videos. I hope to have her watch Lily again!

Schedule

My social life mostly involves textbooks and tail wags! I spend a lot of time at home studying or relaxing, which makes pet care an easy and enjoyable part of my routine. I like to work with each owner to find what schedule and style of care fit best for their pet’s needs. You can trust that your pet will feel safe, comfortable, and cared for.

Safety, trust & environment

In My Home: Your pet will have a cozy, safe space where they can relax comfortably, especially if they prefer quiet or personal space. I provide structured routines with regular feeding, walks, and playtimes, always keeping an eye on their comfort and stress levels. Pets are allowed on the furniture. If you'd like your dog to be crated, please provide your own crate. In Clients’ Homes: I ensure each visit feels familiar and comforting for your pet, sticking to their routine as much as possible. I refresh food, water, and any bedding as needed, and provide companionship and plenty of play. My focus is on creating a seamless transition so your pet feels safe and secure while you’re away.

Pets

A typical day

For dogs who enjoy the outdoors, I offer nature-filled walks around Lincoln Park or nearby parks, where they can safely explore new sights and smells. I also live nearby a large and active dog run that my pup clients LOVE going to! I have my own balcony and we regularly enjoy sunbathing outside in the warmer months ☺️ At other clients homes, I love to go to the dog park! I provide interactive playtime tailored to each pet’s personality, whether that’s a game of fetch, tug-of-war, or a gentle puzzle games for more reserved pets. For calmer pets, we’ll have relaxing cuddle sessions, or I’ll give them enrichment toys to keep them engaged. I adjust each activity based on their comfort level, making sure they’re happy and entertained!

I like to know a bit about your pet’s personality and routine ahead of time, like how they do on walks, whether they’re nervous around new people or animals, and any favorite toys or treats. It’s also helpful to know their feeding schedule, medication needs, and any house rules or quirks that make them feel comfortable. The more I know, the better I can make sure your pet feels right at home ☺️
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
