I have been a Rover Sitter since 2014. My home is in a very quiet neighborhood with a fully fenced large back yard. Your dog will be busy exploring, playing and receiving attention and not stressing out because they are alone or in a noisy kennel situation. Your dog will be a true member of the family. I have three mini Dachshunds and no children or grandchildren. Plenty of dog beds through out the house to rest in between play times. I am retired and at home full time unless I need a quick run to the store, therefore I would crate your dog at those brief times for their safety. I love spending time outside playing with the dogs and have plenty of time for snuggling too. Your dog should be dog and people friendly and up to date on vaccinations and flea/ heartworm prevention and neutered. I do not accept dogs that have incontinence issues or dogs with high separation anxiety or disruptive barking habits. I have lots of experience giving pet meds if necessary and can prepare special diets. I previously worked at a boarding kennel and because there is so much noise and barking there, even the calm dogs would seemed stressed. So I have seen first hand the value having your dog in a peaceful home environment where they will have plenty of the TLC that they deserve. Plus arrival and pick-up times can be flexible unlike the business hours most boarding kennels or veterinarians offer. You will be stress free and truly relax knowing your best friend is in good hands. I will send you daily updates and pictures. I have many years of dog experience. I am comfortable giving pet meds and special diets. I only board neutered/spayed dogs. Your dog should be dog friendly and up to date on vaccinations and flea/heartworm prevention and have basic good manners and be dog friendly. I do not accept incontinent pets or dogs with high separation anxiety, disruptive barking issues, or destructive behaviors. I will treat your pets as if they were my own. I will be caring for them in my home therefore I ask that you respect my home and only bring dogs that are clean, brushed, nails trimmed, and parasite and FLEA FREE. Absolutely NO AGGRESSIVE or DOG REACTIVE DOGS. I have worked at a boarding kennel where there is so much noise and barking that even the calm dogs became stressed. The other alternative is to have someone stay in your home with your pets. However, unless you REALLY know that person, would you be comfortable having someone coming in and out of your home? The ideal situation is to have your dog in a peaceful, loving, home environment so that you can be stress free as well, knowing your beloved family member is in good hands. Before your pet's stay we can discuss your pets special needs and personality and arrange for a meet and greet so you will know if this is the right choice for your cherished pet. Why I love dog sitting I have had and loved dogs all of my life. I understand the importance of the human and animal bond, and what that adds to life. I have trained service dogs and an accelerant detection dog. I think of training as behavioral enrichment for both the dog and myself with the goal of peaceful co-existence. I keep current on dog training, nutrition and health issues. I am fully vaccinated for Covid. About my yard My home is on a 3/4 acre lot. The backyard is fully fenced with a lawn and a nice mix of sun and shade. Plenty of room to run and explore and be a dog. Your dog can have plenty of off leash safe supervised playtime.
