Waggin' Tails-A Dog's Retreat
We have been boarding dogs in our home for over 10 years now. Dogs love our home, it is dog-friendly and so are we. We play with and work the dogs daily. We feed them on a schedule and if they take medication, great care is taken to see that instructions are followed exactly. We have opened our home to dogs young and old and can accommodate anything in between. Dogs staying with us, have a fully-fenced secure yard, with night lighting for those times when a late trip outdoors is needed. We have toys for indoor and outdoor play, as well as for summer and winter workouts. We believe that a good dog is one that gets fed regularly, exercised daily, and loved on frequently. Our only restrictions are that dogs coming to our home must have all of their shots and cannot be aggressive with others. We have a safe and happy home and insist on keeping it that way. Dog care is my business and my pleasure. Dogs are monitored whether inside or outside. While we do have to leave the house to run errands or attend appointments, we make every attempt to ensure that someone is always home. Safety and comfort are important to us. Dogs are free to sit with me, play with me, cuddle with me, walk with me. However, I do board dogs from different homes at the same time so we have gates and doors inside the home to separate dogs when necessary. All dogs are also fed separately to avoid any food issues and in case they take any meds/vitamins in their food. There is a doggy door for dogs who are comfortable using them.

Joann isn’t just a sitter, she is running an all inclusive resort for dogs! My pup had friends, treats, walks, comfy spots to nap, and lots of love!
The dogs always get lots of TLC. Joanne is always communicative and sends lots of pics.
Joanne is amazing with our two dogs, even our skittish husky mix.
Joanne was absolutely wonderful with Jake! She sent SO many updates and photos which eased my worrying heart. She did all his favorite activities and he was such a happy boy when we picked him up. 15/10 would go back.
As my husband and I looked at the pictures Joanne sent us that day, he said, “You know, Joanne’s a really great dogsitter.” I agree. And so does our big boy, Gus. He loves staying at Joanne’s—loves the pack, the walks, the play and THE COUCH!
Another great experience with Joanne. She watched our two puppies including one with some medication that she gets daily and we couldn’t be happier with the experience.

I have a wonderfully social dog named Rocket. He is an excellent host who is my "partner-in-crime". Together we make sure your pup has the best, safest, happiest retreat, so you can both enjoy your vacation.
Pets
A typical day
Every dog gets a walk every day. Dogs of all ages/abilities will be exercised appropriate to their needs. If a walk around the neighborhood is not enough, we have parks and green ways just 5 minutes away. In all seasons we may also walk at the lake or the river. Well-trained pups are welcome to join us on adventures, that may include hiking or snow play. At home we have almost a half acre lot, much of which is designed so the dogs can play and relax safely outdoors as much as the weather allows. Smart, energetic pups who need a bit more challenge/entertainment are welcome to work on dog puzzles and structured games/play. All play is always supervised.
