Safety, trust & environment
Your dog will be warmly welcomed into my home. I am happy to crate them if that is what they are used to but typically dogs have the run of the house. I have a fully enclosed back garden for them to play in but mostly they will be able to just relax at home in between lovely walks either in the forest or on the beach.
Home
Information Joanna W. would like to know about your pet
Any aggression or anxiety when around other dogs or people. How good their recall is. Any little habits I should know about. Any medication needed during a longer stay. Particular preferences when out walking - on a long line or flexi-lead, whether they are a ball lover or prefer to explore.
A typical day
If your dog was with me all day, they would be walked twice and only left for a maximum of 3 hours. I walk mostly either down on the beach or in the forest but there is also a common and large park near me for shorter walks. My van is safely kitted out with 5 safe cages, plus there is space for giant breeds. If we aren't out exploring, we will be relaxing together at home.

Part time teacher, full time dog lover!
Pet care experience
I have been a teacher for 20 years and I have recently taken the decision to go part time to follow my dream of being a dog walker and care provider. I have had dogs my whole life. My favourite breed is dalmatian (I've owned 2!) but currently I have a happy sprocker spaniel. I am lucky to live near to both the coast and the forest and my favourite activity to spend my time doing is walking my dog - now I think it's time to add to the pack! I have a van which has been adapted to safely carry up to 6 dogs. For many years I have regularly cared for my friends' dogs, welcoming them into my home and my family. I am confident with all types of dogs, young and old, large and small. I pride myself on being able to provide both the love and care I would hope for my own dog if she needed to be away from home.

Luna had the best time with Jo. Very happy to recommend Jo - she’s amazing with our 4 legged friends- the perfect home away from home 😍

Thank you Jo for looking after Luna she had the best day! And thanks to Lola who graciously shared her toys, garden and walk! We’ll see you again very soon ;)

Fantastic, Ferris had a wonderful time staying with Joanna. She welcomed him into her home and treated him like her own, he had plenty of exercise and adventures. I could not ask for more. She kept in touch and let us know how he was doing throughout his stay, especially important for us as he had only stayed in kennels before. Thank you Jo, we will get some more trips booked up and some stays booked in!
Jo is an exceptional animal lover and I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending her to anyone, for dog walking or sitting. She is kind loving and caring, setting gentle but firm boundaries to keep my dog safe and happy. She has looked after my dog on numerous occasions and every time I take her to Jo’s she bounces out of the car with excitement. I highly recommend her for peace of mind and care.
